They've played loads of AFCONs in the January before a World Cup before so always logical to fine tune preparations especially as they'll be 9 or even 10 African teams at the next one.https://apnews.com/article/africa-cup-2025-1c4b266b6104a75fe40ce1e4acfd0c60
So apparently dates have not been set yet. There's the stupid Club World Cup in summer 2025, and January 2026 is too close to WC 2026...
True, but that means each team will play at least 8 games this year, if they want qualifiers wrapped up by a winter AFCON. Wider conversation but too many games between club and international football (which we know is not just an African issue)They've played loads of AFCONs in the January before a World Cup before so always logical to fine tune preparations especially as they'll be 9 or even 10 African teams at the next one.
You guys were talking too loud especially on twitter so the agenda has to runI forgot to ask the mods to ban you from this thread for a week
They say it will be summer '25 in Morocco but it's Africa so anything can change at short noticehttps://apnews.com/article/africa-cup-2025-1c4b266b6104a75fe40ce1e4acfd0c60

Well part of World cup in 2030 will be in Morocco and that's certainly a summer tournament, can remember Egypt one in 2019 being summer aswell. They say it will be summer '25 in Morocco but it's Africa so anything can change at short notice
I guess it won't be that much hotter than it has been at the peaks of this tournament - obviously varies city to city though
That was sublime. I already was thinking after his bicicleta how difficult it really is to do what Garnocho did against Everton, and then he comes up with that. I first thought Adingra’s cross hit a cluster of strange quarks.Top 100 touch in football history from Haller.
It was great seeing the close ups of the celebration.I will be watching every afcon until I die. This is pure football
Gives ‘coming from behind’ a while new meaning. Simon Adingra was my man of the match for the finals. Very deserved win in that match. What a story for Ivory Coast. Lost 4-0 to Equatorial Guinea - Lost 2 of their group games and finished 3rd - Manager resigned - Conceded in 4th min against Senegal and went on to win on penalties - Comeback against Mali with 10 men. Not to mention Haller who won the battle against testicular cancer scoring the winner. Really liked the performance of Ivory Coast in this game, and with the exuberance of Simon Adingra there's something to build upon in future competitions.
IdiotsApparently Iwobi has deleted every post from his instagram after being flooded with abuse.

My Twitter feed always has a fair bit of Chelsea stuff and the Nigerian Chelsea fans are noticably brutal.
