From BBC:
Stolen plane sows panic in Frankfurt
Frankfurt's financial district contains many skyscrapers
A stolen plane is circling central Frankfurt, sowing panic in the western German city.
The hijacker is reportedly threatening to smash the plane into the headquarters of the European Central Bank.
Germany's NTV television said the man had told them he did not want to kill anybody but himself.
The light aircraft was stolen at gunpoint from the Babenhausen airport in southern Hessen by an unknown person, the DPA news agency reported.
It is being followed by a police helicopter.
The pilot has made contact with ground control in Frankfurt and has demanded to speak to the broadcaster CNN, a spokesman for air traffic control said.
The police have evacuated high buildings, as terrorism has not been ruled out as a possible motive for the incident.
The airport has also been closed.
It is not known when flights will be resumed.
