Can I ask, why the hate for Pardew?
Because he is a cockney or some other bullshit reason from Newcastle fans.

Has had Newcastle punching above their weight has Pardew. Based on his time with West Ham and Newcastle Palace will do well.

Mediocre manager, grating personality and is seen as Ashley's puppet. Looks like even Pardew with his 8 year contract has lost patience with the big man in charge.

There was also a fair bit of mistrust because he had signed his NUFC contract while Chris Hughton, who was very popular, was still in charge and beating Arsenal & Sunderland. Seen as a bit of a shit thing to do.

Don't think Newcastle will benefit from this. They won't notice what a relatively decent job he's done with an owner like Ashley until someone inevitably does worse.

Can't stand the man but he has done a relatively good job under very difficult circumstances. I would fully understand his reasoning if he left as the fans are constantly on his case and he's never a couple of bad results away from facing the sack.

His brother said recently that he would seriously consider taking the job this time.
Ok. Would be a good thing for you if you can get him (assuming Rodgers continues being shit this season).

But on the other side I liked him as a player, so I would need to start hating him.

Can't see him moving there at all.
De Boer mentioned Spurs, Liverpool & Newcastle as clubs he would like to manage a few months back. Feeling in the Netherlands is that he will leave Ajax but probably not until the end of the season. It might help that we have Krul, Janmaat, Anita and De Boer's old captain Siem de Jong at the club already.

Can't see Ashley going for someone like that though. He will want another yes-man, preferably British and "old school" so that he can go out drinking with them (one of the reasons he binned Hughton is because he wouldn't socialise with him and Llambias).

It'll end up being Sherwood or someone similarly terrible.

My outside hope is that Ashley has decided to bin Newcastle and throw his lot in with Rangers.

That's really depressing to read.

That's not really true. Their form was abysmal for a few months and he stuck with him.
And he was seriously touted for the sack. My point was that any run of bad results and the fans are calling for his head.

Palace offering him a big pay rise? Seems an odd move.

Would probably the best Palace could realistically get. Be interested to see who Newcastle go for if this does happen.

With this and Ashley's manoeuvring in Scotland, Newcastle fans could soon be rid of the two villains of the piece.

I do however wonder if Palace supporters are enacting their own...Charlton moment. I heard yesterday that many of their number essentially went on strike during their last match. For all that they raise banners criticising Sky and the Premier League, they're chasing the money just the same. It will be interesting to see how Pardew fairs without the aid of Newcastle's scouting network.

Sherwood isn't a yes man - told some uncomfortable truths at Spurs and wasn't liked by Levy in the end. And he has a decent run with Spurs. I think he'd be a good shout but doubt it'll happen.

Bruce is the big call mainly because he's a Geordie and is nearly out of contract.

I have lived in, and now work in Newcastle so understand the passion and the fact that they want to feel like the owners will show some ambition.

But they should be careful what they wish for. There isn't a queue of billionaires queuing up to by the club and pump a fortune in. Newcastle are financially stable, more so than most sides in the PL and the business model works well. There are plenty of fly by night owners and dodgy consortiums who pretend to have cash, don't have any and are after making a quick buck.

Yeah, I've heard that too. Wonder who Newcastle would appoint.
Aye, no idea really. De Boer seems to be heavily linked but all the indications are that he will stay at Ajax until the end of the season.

No way will Newcastle go for De Boer. This is a club that gave Joe Kinnear a job. Twice.

Ashley will go for someone like Sherwood.

Not that De Boer would be interested anyway. It is a career killer.

And it is more than likely a load of bollocks too. Us footy fans do love to gossip don't we. Apparently Pardew likes to gamble and is in big debt to Ashley.

Bruce might make sense. With Hull struggling this season they might not be this gutted to let him go and get a few quid for him. Newcastle could get a decent manager with a knowledge of the club no area. Also where Bruce might have the edge over someone like Pulis is he's comfortable buying from foreign leages which is pretty standard for Newcastle.

Surely a huge step down. But if his money is as bad as it seems to be reported then why not?
He's apparently getting a £25+ million transfer budget and is likely to be popular with the fans, as well as being able to go back to Surrey where he has a house close to the training ground.

I can see why he wants this. He's likely sick of the flack from Newcastle fans who will never accept him.

A really interesting move if it happens. Money, location and being wanted.

Some of Newcastle's fans have shown themselves to be hilariously short sighted, making websites wanting him to be sacked, then going all quiet when they had that winning streak.
Must be near impossible club to manage.

Might finally be time for Brucie to go home and do his normal thing, bring sh!Tloads of players in, do well for 12months or so then disappear.

I can't believe someone is paying 2 million to transfer Alan Fecking Pardew.

I think Bruce would be wise to move if offered the job as his stock isn't rising at Hull is it?

He is going to leave one hell of a parting shot to Newcastle fans and probably rightly so.

Bet Moyes wishes he'd held on now. Newcastle would have gone in for him I reckon.

I can see the appeal for him wanting to move, he can live at home with his family and work at a club he knows. Plus he won't get the constant abuse from Newcastle fans and Ashley selling off his best players.

Can't blame him for leaving, with owner selling his best players and the fans treating him like shit who blames him, he has left them in better shape than when he took charge, but the fans have given him nothing but stick because of their unrealistic ambitions for the club at the moment, unless they get a billionaire owner they are going nowhere fast, wouldn't be surprised if they found themselves right in the middle of a relegation battle.
