People love to assume and jump to baseless conclusions on here. I hope he can make an impression in pre-season and he fills a void in our midfield. He definitely would've had more than enough minutes with us this season I feel.

His vacation? He was back in Manchester at our final game of the season. So apparently if he goes out on loan then it means he doesn't want to be here but when he comes back and attends our game it "kills" him as a player for Mourinho. Jeez, people will criticize anything the kid does.

Well I'm not in the group of the people that said anything about him not "wanting to be here", so at least don't put me in the criticize anything group.

Also, I used quotation marks for the words kill and vacation for a reason, I'm not being literal here, but I think it's safe to assume that the easiest way for a guy like him to earn Mou's trust is to be a 101% professional until the end with Valencia, show or at least pretend that he somehow could gel with the squad and leave the team being praised for acting like a great professional, not creating doubts about that.

My literal interpretation of that situation is that he just showed he's not mature enough with his actions, now you can put him a United shirt and somehow he could turn into a role model next september, but right now, If I had doubts about his quality as a player to decide if he deserves a spot next year, him showing that lack of commitment wouldn't help me rate him higher.

Your literal interpretation is just making stuff up akin to the facial expression experts on here. If Mourinho had a problem with him coming back early then he wouldn't have been at the game.

Valencia trying to sign him shows enough that he gelled with their squad and they rated him enough to try sign him.

And them not wanting to go over 20M and Marcelino saying that he could get "a lot more from him" just shows what everyone knows without having to guess anything, that he has the potential and is a "good" player. But we knew that 2 seasons ago when he left to Granada.

Umm, ok? What does that have to do with you making up stuff about going on vacation early, killing himself as a player to Mourinho, saying he is immature, and somehow claiming he didn't build any chemistry there. You've jumped to conclusion after conclusion straight out of your ass.

I don't know where you got the 20m figure but either way 20m would be one of the highest transfers paid by Valencia in recent years so that would evidently mean they rate him highly and he "built chemistry." He is a good player that has potential, who is claiming otherwise?

I'm just giving my opinion, if you don't like it then that's your problem, and if you think I'm wrong then argue against it. I think I've been fair, you're overreacting because of two terms I used in quotes to express concern about his exit situation in Valencia, if it has bothered Marcelino, a coach famous for being friendly to his players and with a soft hand, for a more stern guy it has to look worse.

Valencia have payed 20M or more for 6 players in the last 3 summer windows, and 4 more signings in the 15M range. Their situation keeps improving, they're going to play UCL next season and get extra money, where did I get the 20m figure?.

"El Manchester parte de un precio de venta superior a los 20 millones de euros y por esa cantidad parece poco probable que el Valencia se lance a contratar al futbolista."

If you think it's a merit for Pereira that Valencia are thinking he's in the 20M range, when they paid 20 for Gomes or 22 for Abdennour 3 years ago (when the market was cheaper) then ok, I guess.

Not to mention that he lived in Manchester from aged 15-21, it’s kind of his home.

My Spanish isn't good enough for a precise translation but Google translate has it as United's sale price more than 20m euros, and for that amount it seems unlikely that Valencia will launch to hire the player

Agreed, give the lad a chance. From every interview ive seen and read, he wants to make it here and seems well grounded. The caf is way too quick to write off youngsters these days.

Injuries and played out of position, no great surprised he has wanted to come back. Dont get all the "he wont make it here" comments. Maybe he wont but he hasnt even been given a chance yet, what has he had about 3 cup games and an unsuccessful loan period. With possible midfieldrs leaving like Martial, Herrera, Carrick and Fellaini he should be given a squad place next year and who knows what could happen look at how Rashford and McTominay broke through from nowhere and also Lingard taking a long time to break through.

I like the look of Perreira, hard for him to get opportunies especialls in a Mourinho midfield as cant really think of a central midfielder he has signed for any club he has managed that is a similar profile of player and can only think of Schneider as a similar type of player too. I cant see us signing 3 central midfielders this summer which we could be short of

Yeah if thats the price, no chance Valencia would be interested imo. They'd want a starter for that kind of money not a squad player

I want him to success here , would save up a lot of money if he could make it , i hope he doesn't run away from competition anymore , he could get a lot of matches last season if he didn't run.

Hope he will have a breakthrough next season. If he had a lot of good games next season, I have no doubt he'll be starter considering our tradition of youth academy that they would be the first choice ahead of purchased players. I just don't want more purchased players like Darmin and Fellaini taking most of the times that should be given to our academy graduates.

I feel sorry because I like him and his style but I don’t think he is good enough to make it here at this moment and if he stays he won’t develop into one. This club and ourselves the fans are desperate to get back to winning titles and don’t have time nor patience for youngsters that can’t instantly make an impact in the team. Just see Rashford’s and McTomminay’s situation. I think the best option is to sell him and add a buyback clause, the way madrid does with their youngsters for some reason loaning a player to another team does not work, the manager won’t play loaned players as much.

Imho, he is not ready yet. He needs to play most games in a season if not all, and build consistency in his game. Perhaps a long term loan or sold with buy back clause to a team in Bundesliga a’la KdB.

Interesting to see if Mourinho plays him as a #6 in pre season. Obviously identifies something in his game to occupy that position.

He’ll stay until January at least. If he’s not at the very least a rotational squddie I think at that point I think he’ll go on loan or leave permanently.

Not looking good is it for him here with the arrival of Fred plus the midfielders we already have

if he does not pull ahead of Scott in the midfield packing order then he does not belong in the club

plus the midfielders we already have? If we plan on using a 3 man midfield we have pogba-matic-fred. Then who? Herrera who rarely played last year and mctominay a guy who while perhaps can be a good defensive prospect midfielder hasn't exactly shown a high level yet. That is it for our midfield. Not exactly top tier players pereira would be sitting behind, and both of whom don't offer nearly what he could creativity wise.

Matic, Pogba, Fred, Herrera, Pereira and McTominay sound good enough for next season.

Well that's what we had last season and he couldn't make it so with new persanel it looks even more unlikely, but time will tell

With Fellaini and Carrick leaving, Scott still being inexperienced, i dont see why he shouldnt be in the squad. Unless we sign another midfielder, i see him here next season

Think he can easily take Mata's place in the squad and perform as a decent wide option occasionally switching to CM when necessary.

This. Plus he's the best crosser of the ball in the squad arguably so he'd give us a threat from the wing if need be.

ummm no? We had herrera coming off a full season where he was player of the year for us i believe, carrick who was thought to be healthy enough to provide a veteran presence, and fellaini who mou loves. Plus there was no talk of a 3 man midfield so it was really just for two spots

It’s up to Andreas. I think he’s talented enough to get a few games as a squad player like McTominay this season, but he seems to want regular football and he won’t get it here. Even if Fred comes in and is shockingly bad, Herrera is the next man up in midfield. And while he can play out wide as well the competition for places there is even deeper.

The competition for the right wing is almost non-existent. It is just another two central players being pushing wide in Mata and Lingard.

Nice age balance too.

Yup. Sounds like Jose may play with 3 men midfield majority of games, so that's 6 players for 3 slots per game. Injuries, suspensions, forms, fitness freshness, etc, means it should be more than enough games for everyone.

First team: Matic, Pogba, Fred?
Regular: Fred?
Squad: Herrera, McTominay, Pereira

:devil:Coach Carrick.

Just that hopefully he stays this time and fight for his place. No more loans. Possibly he may even find games on the wings. His crossing can be saucy for Lukaku.

That said, let's see what will happens next.
