he can feck right off, he was 99% useless for us and by all accounts seemed to have a dire attitude. not sure why he feels the need to give these shitty interviews now, he has nobody to blame but himself.
but i'm sure some will still say "worth every penny for the penalty".
One reason he was so loved is he did have great love and joy in playing for the club, something so evidently missing from many of the current players.
Personally I wonder if the big leg break he had at Porto effected him a lot more than we know. I remember him palying in a friendly for them against us and he was absolutely superb and was virtually everytime I saw him for Porto.
We did play him out of position, but just his sharpness and movement never quite looked the same. I thougth he looked really promising in his first couple of seasons, he just looked like he should be taking the game by the scruff of the neck and dominating, really thought he was going to be a huge player for us.
Agree, he wasnt for a lot of his time here very good and probably shouldnt have been here more than 4years, I do think injuries actually played a big part in that. If he was in this current side I would probably dislike him if Im totally honest, but I still remember him fondly and reckon he probably had a really positive effect on the dressing room.
In Fergusons time though, even though he didnt hit the heights expected, I still think he was a much better player than many of the current crop, would use Herrera as an example who seemed to be lauded a bit on here for being average and remembered as a really good player. Herrera had a great attitude but was never really more than average, Anderson was never really lauded for his performances, but he was really good in his first couple of seasons, but peopel just remember the party Anderson or the second half of his injury ravaged time here.
A lengend certainly not, but I think he deserves the fond memories personally even though I can totally understand your stance even though think its a little harsh
