Over the past few years French hiphop has been growing on me. I don't understand anything but it just sounds good. They usually have good beats and nice flows.

Some favorites of mine:

When I was about 15 I got talking to a French guy on a bus. He let me listen to some French hip hop and I loved it. I've never bothered looking into it since but now there's a few artists listed I might have a listen tonight. As a language it seems to flow really well.

I used to, a lot, but haven't for a while. I'll have to dig out my old files.

This is the track that got me into it:

Booba is a famous French MC.

MC Solaar used to collab with Guru of Gangstarr on the latter's Jazzmatazz series.

Someone posted this French producer/artist's album in Hectic's Hip-Hop thread a few years ago. Dela, I think the name is. Still listen to it every now and then.

Hectic posted an instrumental album by a French producer called Venom as well back in the day. I've lost it now though so can't remember if it was any good or not.

I'm not a big fan of the French Hip Hop but I will suggest some songs.

Think my knowledge about French rap ended around Mafia k'1 fry, back in the days there were some Paris squads making some featurings with Polish rappers, mostly street stuff admittedly but that's all we've had.

Their flow is second to none though, French being a very melodic language with all the liaisons, double tempos, very pleasing to listen to.
