It does really annoy me that it’s going to be Lego Pep who ends up winning the title. In his first job. No way did I think that was possible.

They have alot of tough games to come. Not over yet.

Like us, they seem to have a mental barrier when going to Anfield and end up getting hammered. If they can win there next Sunday then the momentum might get them through it

I wouldn’t be too sure.

Their next seven fixtures are as follows:

Liverpool (A)
West Ham (A)
Southampton (H)
City (A)
Chelsea (H)
Newcastle (A)
Brighton (H)

Southampton aside, the rest are tough games/ banana skins.

I still think and maintain hope that they’ll bottle it, despite it being the only thing they’re playing for now.

This has been said all season long. They’re the real deal.

The best part is that it’s all happening a few years ahead of schedule.
the manager is in his first job and still learning, and the players are improving every week. Even the likes of Saka and Martinelli are on a different level to what they were just 6 months ago. Most of our players are under 25, we are building this squad for the long term, and yet could win a title at the start of the journey.
its really an incredible turn around that no Arsenal fan saw coming, as much as it was clear to anyone that watched closely that Arteta will be a success, not to this extent and never this early.

Defeats against City and Liverpool are clearly possible so a 2 points lead with Chelsea/Newcastle/Brighton is a bit scary.
The good thing is we finish with Nottingham Forest/Wolves and they have Chelsea + Brentford away so a late swing can happen if we shit the bed.

If they can stay ahead of City by 4 or 5 points by the time they play them then they have a massive chance. I fully expect City to beat them at home and City have by far the easier fixture list (more games though)

How is the bolded compatible with them "bottling" it?

They have a game in hand so if we lose at Liverpool and city I think it’s game over and city win the league .

if we beat Liverpool I think the title is ours.

What about a draw against Liverpool and a defeat to City? 3 point lead but City with a game in hand.

No good , if city hit the front they won’t drop any points , just like Liverpool found out every time they just missed out, city won’t let you back in, they’ll win every game, and have the goal difference advantage so will stay ahead even if level on points.
We pretty much have to beat Liverpool, or then rely on a title decider at city, where we need a draw and they need to win.

Their game in hand is Brighton away so.....maybe ? :nervous:
I'd love nothing more than Tuchel and Bayern putting 8 past them but let's hope they progress and prioritize the CL. We'll definitely need them to slip up in a game or two.

Arsenal lost to Brighton in one of the cups. Lost to City at home, managed to beat Liverpool in a tight match. Drew with Newcastle at home. These are all tough matches, and I personally would be more surprised too see Arsenal win it rather than bottle it.

exactly it’s how I feel too. I guess its the nerves kicking in but one loss will allow huge pressure on us.

it’s very easy to see us losing at anfield and city. In that scenario we lose the title.

We need a draw at Etihad I feel. That would win us the league. Tough ask, because we were pretty naive at home vs City.

their home and away form is night and day. Anfield is a fortress. They’ve only lost one game there in the PL.
True, but also they're just not good enough to beat you. I expect a draw honestly

Newcastle away will be a very tough match for us, they are destroying Man Utd here. First to every ball. We ll need to be on top form.

Yeah that's probably a bad result in the scheme of things, especially considering they were 2-0 up. Arsenal could be losing this on goal difference soon enough.

Got a feeling they’re going to bottle this, City have a game in hand as well, all depends on that game where they play each other.

Not an awful result in all honesty. Especially if you take into our result in this fixture.
It’s in city’s hands now. Arsenal have blown it after having a 2-0 lead and opportunity to kill them off first half. This will hurt.

The result itself isn't too bad and it could have been worse given Liverpool missed a penalty too, but letting a 2 goal lead slip....

They have been immensely lucky this season. I also don't think they have played the level of football that we have seen City play or Liverpool play in their peak. Those late winners against Villa United and Bournemouth are the difference.

Must be gutted today. Such a poor second half and throwing away a 2 goal lead.

In the end very fortunate to scrape a point but this could be a turning point in the league and you sense the players were rattled.

They'll need to get every last point from the West Ham/Southampton & Forest/Wolves games that bookend their remaining fixtures, because that Chelsea, City, Newcastle, Brighton run in the middle looks rough.

They were their worst enemy, first Xhaka started some scuffle out of nothing, then they went completely defensive in the second half.

If Liverpool had taken their chances that was a pasting. 6 huge chances missed.
True but they didn't.

Arsenal's record at Anfield is dreadful so it's probably a relief they came away with a point. City lost there this season with far less hyperbole.

The Newcastle game is probably the barometer. Side that specialises sh*thousery.
