Guess who's back.
I was actually wondering what the etiquette was on here, is it always fan of a club that starts their own individual thread or is it started by anyone who takes interest in the club? I was patiently waiting for us signing Marvellous Nakamba today to tip @Yagami over the edge and basically proclaim us as champions league certainties already.
Anyway this reddit preview of us has greatly amused me.
Just to confirm, Kalinic lasted started a game in Mid February (we're still more than likely to sign another keeper), the imperious Mings played every game for us as a CB and captain Grealish benched for Birkir Bjarnsson.
He does somehow predict us to still finish 12th with that line up, actually two places higher than I think we'll end up with a far stronger one.....
Anyway big strength is midfield. I think Grealish and McGinn will step up fine and would say Douglas Luiz will be starting DM so hopefully he shows form that makes Pep want to involve him for Man. City.
We need another striker but Wesley has been looking good in pre season, holding it up well and scored a couple. Jota has probably been our best player in pre season so I think he'll be starting at Spurs.
Weakness will likely be at left back which is a jinxed position since Freddie Bouma broke his leg in July 2018.
Since then we've had "greats" of the game in that position such as Nicky Shorey, Stephen Warnock, Joe Bennett, Antonio Luna and Aly Cissokho in that position. Signed Matt Targett for 12m but I'm not really sure as he couldn't get in a poor Southampton team for last two seasons and the alternative is Neil Taylor....
In other news club has sold 30k season tickets already and indeed first home game against Bournemouth only has a couple of hundred tickets left. Going to be regular 40k crowds this year so in a totally different place compared to the awful last few years of the Randy Lerner era.
As I've said above would be more than happy with 14th place finish playing decent football and being comfortably away from bottom 3, probably similar to how Newcastle played last two seasons after being promoted from the championship.

The next team I'm going to preview is one of the new boys, Aston Villa
Team Background:
All is right in the world, as Aston Villa, one of the most well-known clubs in English football, is back where they belong after defeating Frank Lampard's Derby County in the playoff final (and as a bonus, get to meet his Chelsea side this season).
Manager Dean Smith has taken the necessary steps to ensure that their stay lasts more than one season, as he made 9 new signings to strengthen his squad.
Villa fans will be excited to see their team return to the top flight, hoping to erase the memories of the last time they were there. so expect them to stay up quite comfortably.
