HENRIK LARSSON last night clinched the contract which will see him end his glorious career with European giants Barcelona.

Nou Camp president Joan Laporta told Record Sport earlier this week he was determined to lure the Swede to the Catalan capital but he was likely to wait until the end of Euro 2004 before putting an offer on the table.

But club insiders were adamant last night the terms of Larsson's deal - which is believed to be over two years - have now been hammered out.

A Barca source said: "We now know the deal to bring Larsson to Spain has been done. The club want to keep it quiet for now because they don't want to be blamed for distracting Larsson from his job with Sweden.

"There have been talks over the last couple of days and everything is settled. Barcelona are delighted and we think Larsson is also happy to have his future all mapped out."
