Really want to see Hernandez start.

Prediction:
Manchester United 2 (Park 11', Rooney 42')
Barcelona 1 (Pedro 74')

It would be worth shitting myself in injury time.

I wouldn't leave Nani out for this one Nick. We need to stretch them out on the wings and Park will always come in on a more central role during the game. Leaving the wing exposed.

I wouldn't have Nani in at the expense of Hernandez, I'm convinced Fergie will start with Hernandez.

It's hard to disagree with that. Possibly O'Shea for Fabio. Fletcher, Rafael and Nani have had untimely injuries/illnesses that set them back, otherwise they would have been pushing for a place.

That team has had a couple big games together - and it's worked, as a poster above said - take it to them.

I think you need to re-watch the final if you think he'll leave the wings exposed.

Might be a good game to give Morrison and Tunnicliffe a runout in the first team.

Who is going to be the ref ?
I heard they will announce on Wednesday.

Errrm scratch that, it is Nicola Rizzoli

My source is legit I think

He is the dude who sent off Rafael in the Bayern match. We have to be careful with him

2-1 United, Hernandez to score in the 87th minute and get the winner.

I'd drop Carrick for Fletcher and I would rather have Owen than Berbatov on the bench. Scholes doesn't have the legs to play against a high tempo team so he'd be out of the squad for me. Not a time to be sentimental.

And I agree with the scoreline prediction.

Same for me.

Team that is.

Although I am wondering if it might be wise to have Owen on the bench somewhere.

Nah, Park and Valencia are perfect for this game I reckon. If Park can put in a performance like he did against Chelsea then even more so. Nani can make an impact in the second half depending on how the game pans out, it's a shame but his form has dropped at the worst time really and I think the shape I posted is the best we have, I really don't see him leaving Hernandez out.

First and foremost - quality match thread. Regarding the game. They are clearly the favourites on paper, but as SAF says that's not always the best thing. I'm confident in our manager to do what is needed to motivate our players to win this game, and he must have been thinking about what to do differently for the last two years.

I'm not feeling the mega-nerves I had before the Chelsea games in both the league and cup, and the Shalke first leg. I'm just really looking forward to another European final

Go forth and conquer them United!!!

This would be Fergie's finest hour if we win IMO, we are dealing with a once in a generation team with a once in a generation talent in their ranks, if he masterminds a victory over them after being tortured by the same side 2 years prior and also claims a 3rd CL triumph, nobody could ever trot out the "underachieved in Europe" line ever again, which is a load of nonsense anyway to be honest but this would draw a line under it once and for all.

I've changed my mind over and over about what formation we should go in with and due to the form we've shown with 4-4-2 and Chico stretching teams and Fletcher's lack of game time going into the final, I think the side that beat Chelsea with Fabio at RB is what we should go with.
