Being driven mad by a song

There's a song I hear constantly at work but cannot find what it's called or who it's by. It's a simple song, just a bloke and a guitar. He has quite a thick accent (Irish maybe) which makes deciphering the lyrics against the background noise tricky, but it sounds like something along the lines of...

"It's easy to say goodbye...so hard to say hello...[something something something]...easier to let one another go..."

Don't let me down Caf

Nope :( Can find quite a few songs that go "...hard to say goodbye" but this one is definitely "...hard to say hello."

It's also a lot slower than that.

Dunno the song but I found these lyrics...

In the weeks that follow a breakup
The last thing you want to do
Is be out buyin' groceries
And see you-know-who
I left a half-filled shopping cart
Sittin' on isle three
Made a beeline for my car
Prayin' that she didn't see me
And

Chorus
It ended well
We said we'd still be friends
So somebody tell me why
It's so hard
To say hello
To the one who said goodbye

By a guy called Brad Paisley

Ask around at work - you need to get the lyrics or a portion of the verse, so it's less generic and easier to find.

Truth like rain don't give a feck who it falls on.
It's so hard to say hello
To say hello
Can somebody tell me why
It's so hard
To say hello
To the one that said goodbye

Or...

It's hard to say hello, harder to say goodbye
I had to let you go, wo-ah, wo-ah, wo-ah
It's hard to say hello, harder to say goodbye
I had to let you go, wo-ah, wo-ah, wooo.

Ok, thanks to running to the cellar where the music system is kept when the song came on, I now know it's called "A Thousand Times" but it didn't have the name of the artist on the display so I'm still stumped.

Ringing any bells for anyone?

A couple of those I couldn't find online to listen to so could be in amongst them. Not Patrick McGinley though, his voice is too low...

Does his voice go quite high at times in the song?
...so yes, his voice is quite high. Do you know something?

Bumping this thread, need some help with a song.

What I remember of it is very vague - its a rock song with a very Aerosmith-y chorus. The lyrics in the chorus are 'I will alllllllllways loooove youuu'. Yes, crappy lyrics but it's stuck in my head. That's literally all I can remember of it.

It's not Lovesong by the Cure or any of it's covers. It's driving me crazy!

 I originally thought it was a rock cover of it, and searched for that first, but I don't think one was made!

All I know is that the chorus sounds very much like an Aerosmith song

comfortable and settled in my rut
Wondering if anyone can help me. Heard it in a best of 2011 compilation a month ago. Female singer, music video has a green background, she's walking up and down stairs a lot and I'm sure the songs about a man, possibly might have the word man in the title. Its driving me mental and I've asked so many people in real life who don't know I'm beginning to think I imagined it. I know is not a lot to go on
