Benjamin Sesko | Arsenal working on deal

Never seen him have a good game, granted I only ever watch him against the decent sides, so maybe he's the classic flat track bully.

But looks like he's Arsenal bound so won't be coming here. Muppets can set their stalls somewhere else.

Still not totally convinced by him but he's still very young and for his age obviously pretty good.

Rashford, Sancho and Antony might generate 70-80m. Should be enough to cover Sesko or Gyökeres.
At some point when Arsenal have already signed him yeah, and the likelihood seems to be that Rashford will try to railroad us into sending him to Barca on loan and paying half his wages or he'll refuse to leave.

He's not shown comsistent top level goal scoring ability, could be a massive risk

Neither did Isak
Isak hit 17 la liga goals in 20/21, nearly 1 in 2,which is better than sesko in a stronger league. So Isak had shown a season as a consistent scorer.
strikers score for fun in the bundesliga, sesko has hit 13, 1 more than Delap in a much weaker league. People talking about 80m plus for a player who is such a big risk is insane. He might end up being world-class. He might end up never being a consistent scorer. My point is that for the prices quoted, we shouldn't be at the table

This is the striker I voted for in the main thread.

It's all purely off instinct and the eye test, but this kid looks special. I know he is still very raw and his stats are nothing to shout about, but the way he strikes the ball with venom is what gets arses up off the seats.

His dribbling, the clever touches and flicks look like signs of a future world class player.

Yes he's young, but I've just watched a 19 year old score in a UCL final.

Next season will be one of transition, so I don't mind bringing in a young striker as long as he's way better than Hoijlund, which this kid is.

I agree but I think people have been scarred by the Rasmus experience. He'll likely to cost as much if not more. Plus there's the small matter of Arsenal's interest.

How many did Isak get the season before and after?

13 and then 14 or 9 17 then 6 which is more consistent?

Also his price tag is 67m not 80m+

My point is looking at his all round game he looks like a player who can become a top striker, not that he is now. That was the same with Isak

He looks like he has all the tools to be a superstar but it is just silly money when we are talking 90mil quid.

In theory it should, and if Arsenal are in heavily for one, they surely won't be in for both.

Feels a bit underwhelming in terms of Arsenal making a step up to get over the line in the league or CL. I feel like Havertz will end up starting as striker for them at some point next season, even if they sign Sesko.

Arsenal always end up signing second rated strikers because the top one won't come. They can only hope that Sesko or Havertz come good.

But Arsenal is pretty much buying a new striker every other year.

'I understand that United offered £250k p/w and refused to go higher, the minute Arteta comes and offers a mouth watering £650k p/w Arsenal are front of the queue.'

Arteta has been chasing Sesko for two years, minimum. He has been very clearly the #1 guy on their list after Isak.

Absolutely ridiculous freak of a footballer. As a guy who just turned 22, he still needs to put it all together but the ceiling is sky high. There are like 50 different "holy shit" moments in this video alone.

Interesting one. Looks a risk but can see why they are gambling on it - such a lack of sure things striker wise around at the minute.

Find it hard to believe he will be world class but they need something.

if that means we have a chance at landing Gyökeres, I'm all for it.

For what it's worth, I've always felt Sesko is a bit overrated. I mean, he's obviouly talented, but the way he's been hyped by some people, I've come away a bit underwhelmed every time I've watched him. "He still needs to put it all together" is an apt statement, but that's true for a lot of young(ish) strikers. No guarantee he's ever going to make those steps to fulfill his potential.

Few things to worry about him:
1) Defenders look pretty shit and he looks to have an advantage of them physically which will not be the case in PL.
2) Secondly having being burnt from Kagawa, Sancho and Miki from Bundesliga. I would be very cautious of any player coming from there.
3) His scoring record looks average in Bundesliga (13 in 33), you can at least discount 5 goals which takes his tally to 8, not good enough for a top team as a main striker.

On the plus side, technically he looks very good as compared to say Gykores.

Feels like either a genius move that we will all compliment in a few years or we will be saying they bottled getting Gyokeres.

I think this is probably the reason why Gykores to Utd is now a possibility. I suppose he was waiting for Arsenal to move for him, he was their first choice being in Champions League and him being 27 years old, I do not blame him. Once he knew that they have moved towards Sesko, you have started hearing noise of him being open to Utd.

Ohh he has a YouTube video

Genius move I think, hes going to be a top player but Arsenal need to win now so I don’t know if it will help Arteta

What if he moves to Arsenal and his legs just stop working?

He may very well just hate Arsenal and start scoring intentional own goals every week. They will keep playing him cause they're so heavily invested and he promises he won't do it again this week.

He has the potential to be the best striker in the world but you're paying a premium for that potential like when we signed Hojlund or when Newcastle signed Isak

I honestly dont think he is the right player for Arsenal at this point, they are looking for a first choice number 9 to lead the line for them in the toughest league in the world and Sesko isnt ready to do that yet.

Pretty much this. I would say its more like Isak than Hojlund though (more time developing at a higher level)
