Bruno Fernandes vs Kevin de Bruyne

Technically De Bruyne is a better player than Bruno but there’s always more than a players technique when I look to at a player in a whole.

De Bruyne for example goes quiet in so many big clutch games, which has dropped my perception of him a bit.

Bruno, no matter how shit he is to people, is playing, giving it his all - he usually comes up with goals and assists at some important times as well.

Even on a utd forum, you would have a hard time not seeing KDB is an easy winner in this.

Personally I think De Bruyne is a better footballer, but I don't think it's a totally daft comparison and I wouldn't swap them out. I don't think De Bruyne would be as impactful as Bruno in the United teams Bruno has played in, and I don't think Bruno would be able to adapt at City with their more patient approach (although maybe he would this season as he'd be brilliant for Haaland whose movement is often wasted despite his goal tally).

De Bruyne is clearly more polished and better at the fundamentals, but despite playing in a much less functional team and feeding much less capable goalscorers, Bruno has delivered similar numbers of goals/assists and creates chances at basically the same rate. Fernandes' xA in the league isn't far off De Bruyne's over the same period, and that's despite playing in a struggling team for about 1/3rd of his time here, and most fans thinking he was utter shit last year.

So basically, De Bruyne - but it's closer than most are making out.

Important and relevant points being made here. I was beginning to think we were on a sky blue forum. Thank feck!
