Absolutely bizarre decision. Looking forward to them fading into obscurity at last.

Must’ve looked at Leeds ripping the bandaid off by sacking their own iconic manager and getting a big bounce in results. Probably too late for Burnley, though.

What the actual f?

Are they mad at that club?

In the height of the relegation battle and they have a good schedule.

Think that's like really physically impossible.
If we put men on the moon, Delia can keep Norwich in the Prem for 2 consecutive seasons by hiring Dyche.

Call me crazy but I truly believe that.

Wow. They'll be in League 2 by the end of 2025.
Exactly, we have seen this before with the likes of Stoke and Charlton. There are plenty of bigger clubs in the Championship ready to take their place.

This sucks.

Now even if Burnley go down, we will somehow have this cnut in the premier League again at some point next season.

Was not expecting this at all, utterly shocked! As many on here have said, that’s the end of Burnley being a PL team, will stagnate in Championship and probably end up in L1 or L2. He’s worked absolute miracles there, he’s got a very good squad too, why panic, if they do go down, they’re more than likely to come straight back up with Dyche, can not see that happening now.

Baffling. If you didn't think Dyche was the guy sack him earlier and give the new man a fighting chance to turn it around. Also who is going to come in and do better?

Better interim than Rangnick, sign him up!

He's their best ever manager and they end up sacking him 8 games before the end of the season. Huge disrespect for him. What are they expecting in those 8 remaining games really?

A spell on Talksport bemoaning the lack of chances for British managers awaits.

If Burnley do fall into a death spiral, it might force through legislation to protect from the sort of piss poor, debt laden ownership model employed by ALK and the Glazers.
It really won't though. The government will give them a medal and nothing will change.

Best ever? I doubt that, they won the league in the 50s.

Makes sense. If he’s going if they’re relegated anyway then May as well give it one last manager bounce blast to stay up.
They don’t have to go down because Sean did such a good job before this. He doesn’t have the right to relegate them
They are a rubbish squad with rubbish players: do you honestly believe someone else is going to do a better job which such a bespoke outfit?

It’s a suicidal move, imo. How many managers have the expertise to get the best out of a bunch of plodders fighting for their lives?

Madness, he's done a great job at Burnley and watching their fight to stay up was all this season had left for me. Sadly and somehow unsurprisingly Manchester United managed to kill that too.

Can't spell Mkhitaryan
Dyche is better off out of there. He's been a good manager working with one of the smallest budgets in the league. I genuinely don't know what they expected him to do with what he had available.

Honestly had to check if the date was April 1st when I heard this on Talksport twenty minutes ago.

Burnley won't be back in prem for a long while with decisions like this.

They weren't great at Norwich but that was Sunday lunchtime and they've waited until 48 hours before the next match to sack him.:houllier: Get the feeling the owner was a bit spooked watching the West Ham match.

Can only think they'll get a Big Sam or Pulis in and that would be logical given their style of play.

that will have to wait. he’ll have already booked a two week all inclusive from t’teletext to the costa del sol. he’ll bemoan the food at the hotel and find a cafe run by expats and eat 3 full english a day, only returning to the hotel to drink the free lager around the pool and take numerous, horrible, greasy shits in their facilities.

Odd timing so close to the weekend. Must have been a falling out? It also just seems so late in the season to be making a move like this, how much an impact is someone really going to have? Especially as they're hardly in place for the weekend.

Classless way of handling things in any case, for a guy that's done so much for the club. They'll probably go down anyway but he deserved better than that. They'll do well to find a better manager for their limits.

It makes sense to get rid of him now. If they go down, which is likely then they might as well prepare themselves for the Championship
They still have some winnable games left in the run in.

Southampton are pretty much on the beach now so them at home is very winnable next Thursday.

Wolves aren't scoring much so them at home is a possible 0-0 or 1-0 win.

Watford away has to be a must win if they have any chance.

Still got to play Villa twice and Newcastle at home on last day.

Not saying they'd have won all of those under Dyche but feels like they'll barely win any if they just promote the youth team coach who might want them stringing endless passes in the centre of the pitch.

It's a strange call imo as Everton got Leicester, Liverpool and Chelsea in their next three so very possible they don't win any of those and suddenly with one win Burnley are right back in it.
