They won't sack Mourinho until April(ish) at the earliest. Any caretaker will therefore only be in charge for a handful of games at most, before the new manager is appointed in the summer.

Give Jardim a contract till the end of the 2019-2020 season, get a DOF, and start bringing through and nurturing some young players. If things are going well by this time next year, extend Jardim.
Couldn't agree more with you, I truly believe Jardim could far excel the fans choice of Pochettino if he's allowed to build a team that's not sold out from under him

That’s what I really want as well.

Don’t know too much about Jardim, I googled him and didn’t realise he was that young. What sort of football does he get his teams playing?

If you want to bring a young coach like Jardim in you need to have a structure in place (DOF). Bringing him in and then telling him, here you go do whatever you like is setting him up for failure. Which is why I'm against the idea of hiring a permanent coach now. Sack Mourinho now to make the transition easier.

Put measures in place by the end of the season by getting in a DOF within the next couple of months (without Mourinho's baggage hanging around). Then with the DOF, get the next manager in place who is in line with our vision and do a lot of the donkey work for next season now (look at the squad, see areas we need to target, line up those potential targets, contract renewals, dispensable players etc).

I felt for Jardim and Monaco, seeing that amazing team torn apart in the space of a couple of months. It actually annoyed me a bit, how on earth are clubs supposed to close the gap to the big boys if every time they get something good going they’re picked apart?

I know he was sacked with them in the relegation zone, but I wouldn’t be averse to seeing what he could build here.

Give it to Casey Stoney. She’d at least teach us some set piece routines. The woman must have used about 10 different ones on Sunday and all were dangerous.
Get Greenwood in as well to teach our fullbacks how to cross and how to captain a team whilst we are at it Young would benefit massively from this.

As a coach he is balanced and will adapt most of the tactic to the squad at his disposal. The only things that don't really change is that he likes to have the fullbacks providing width, low block and he loves set pieces, at the exception of this season his teams are good on attacking and defensive set pieces.

On the low block, his approach has mainly been to have the back four at the edge of the box as quickly as possible, during that time the attackers press to disturb the opponents counter attack, the midfielders cover them while retreating and finally everyone plays low and compact. From that position the midfielders and attackers will apply a zonal pressing where they try to push the opposition into wide areas, provoke mistakes or force bad crosses.

When in possession it depends too much on the personnel but he relies on players with good technique that can play quick short passes. A little bit like United with Queiroz, a mix of possession and counter attacking football depending on the context and the opposition.

Ta. Sounds good, so probably not being looked at by Woody.

What went wrong at Monaco?because he was fired and they were struggling right?

First Monaco sold most key players and didn't replace them with equivalent players, secondly most of the players supposed to be key have been injured since August and finally some players declined like Falcao due to age, Jemerson for no apparent reason and Sidibé is physically shot. Only Glik is still playing at a good level.

Cool, thanks. Doesn’t sound like he’ll be out of work for too long if he’s highly rated.

I know this won't be popular with many, but I wouldn't mind seeing Wenger take charge till the end of the season.

I think he'll get the squad morale in shape, is a master of the top 4 trophy and leave the footballing side in better shape for the next manager to pick up in the summer.

Anyone else agree?
Absolutely not, McKenna and Carrick is the obvious choice or include Nicky with those two.

Only when you make a choice can I be calm.

I'll make it interesting.... Jose, Wenger or Big Sam until the end of the season. Who do you pick?
I’d honestly have big Sam.

Unless we go on a massive losing run and Mourinho ends up being bundled out of a press conference by security to stop him attacking Simon Stone he'll be here until the end of the season. There's a clear precedent at this club. If we don't get top 4 he'll go. If we do he'll stay.

And then guide United to the champions league title in May.

The trophy that has always eluded him. Then announces his retirement on the same night declaring himself a specialist in success.

A guy can dream right?
DiMatteo did win it with Chelsea so never say never.

Probably managing Wakanda. The guy likes to get around.
Did a quick google search and he's currently managing Iran and has done for the last 8 years. He's announced that he will step down from his position in January after the Asia cup.

I couldn't agree more about Jardim needing that kind of structure around him, however our board have proved over the last few years that they are not that forward thinking. I know people will say he isn't a good appointment as he was sacked from Monaco, but that had a lot to do with him having his team he put together totally broken up

If the board cares about strengthening the football side of things, they should do the following:
  1. Sack the miserable one immediately
  2. Appoint a caretaker until end of season from within the staff, someone like Mckenna for instance
  3. Hire a director of football tasked with outlining the footballing vision of the club among other things
  4. At the end of the season, hire a head coach that can work with the DOF towards the vision
