I'd like him to stay and play a lot, but i think we have too many attackers now.
If he wants to go to Barca, and they put in an offer, i say let him go.
We only have 2 nr. 9 at the club, both kind of old an increasingly injury prone. We´ll need both, so I really hope Cavani is going nowhere.

Purely a myth written in newspapers.

He can hold up really well, and still has that electric stepovers.
I mean I’m basing this from watching him play for Juve/Portugal but whatever… I’m hoping as much as you that he can provide us the goods we’re all craving though.

Cavani is seemingly/reportedly fighting really hard not to be here huh? First it was the doubts about renewing/extending last year, then the push for Uruguay and now this.
Given that he was signed at the last minute, I think it's fair to say he was never desperate to play here, nor were we desperate to sign him until other options disappeared.

It's worked out well so far, but let's not kid ourselves that it's a love affair. He got shafted by the FA, probably isn't a fan of the weather and culture, but will do a professional job for us for 2 seasons and hopefully score another 15+ goals and then leave. It's all good.

Yup, it's hardly the equivalent of the Di Maria situation for example.

Old Trafford needs to give Cavani every drop of love it gives to Ronaldo.

I think that most consider Ronaldo and Cavani 9s, i'd add Greenwood aswell, so that's 3.

Really hope he stays. I still think him and Ronaldo could form a great partnership if they play together.

Will be gutted if this goes through. He's absolutely class and was our best player by a mile in the last few months of last season.
I was expecting him and Ronaldo to rotate with each other as neither can be expected to play 3 times a week. It'd be the perfect partnership.

Is Rashford not considered at all to play as striker? Do you guys only see him as a winger nowdays?

That goes for the caf posters too. You were quick to make a siuuuuu thread for Ronaldo but I don’t see an equivalent thread for Cavani.

Letting Cavani go while putting the arm around Lingard and Martial would be a real kick in the teeth.

No we need Cavani, he's an elite striker and will be very useful, Ronaldo can't play every game. Right now he doesn't displace Greenwood but Greenwood is a young player so you have to expect peaks and troughs in form.

Would be fools to let him go.

Ronaldo played about 40 times last season and Cavani 30 or so, so on the surface that would seem like a decent equal share of game time.
Neither of them is likely to want to accept any time on the bench though, especially at their ages, but it would be something special if they did..

Don't really care about it not being a love affair, but it's also not ideal to be reading about his openness to leaving this often. It is what it is, I guess.

Has he always been Cavani21 on Instagram (I don’t use it), or has this changed? If so seems nailed on for shirt swap and a stay at OT.

Well, of course Martial and Rashford can play up front as well, but as we saw last season, we become a bit one-dimensional without a poacher in the box that can score from headers. Only Cavani and Ronaldo can give us that.

I believe it´s still Cavani21.

To be fair he is not going to start a lot of games for us with Ronaldo coming.

He always plays with a smile on his face, including against Wolves, to say he doesnt want to be here. Did you see him when we scored against Wolves?.

The situation probably isnt ideal for him but i'm sure he's happy to stay and see this seaosn out.

Could be bold and try a 4-4-2 with both of them up front. Fernandes and Pogba as the midfielders and just adopt a “we will score more than you” approach

Would be fun

That was shot down quickly. I think Barca are looking for some last minute panic buys and reinforcements

Cavani has been getting a lot of love the past year. That's literally why he delayed his return to South America, I wouldn't bee to concerned about The Matador not feeling loved, he certainly is.

Just when we finally look like we have a strong squad.
Ronaldo coming off and being replaced by Martial is not good. Being replaced by Cavani is better. We need a strong squad to compete.

I'd really stress to him we still want him. But if that's not an option then so be it

And those saying Greenwood. Well we need someone to play at right wing
