Champions League Quarter Finals | Chelsea vs Real (Tue) | Bayern vs City (Wed)

I want us to face Napoli.

Either we go through or - in best Uli Hoeneß tradition - we will be interested in Osimhen or Kvaratskhelia after they scored against us.

Real or bust

If I was a City fan I would be booking a flight to Lisbon now. They are guaranteed to draw Benfica and have an easy route through.

They might as well get the Istanbul hotel bookings on the cheap from scousers.

Weakest looking quarter final teams, on paper, for a long time. But potential for some really interesting ties. I would love to see a Milan derby and Napoli to progress too.

I think this is City's year, unfortunately. Here's hoping for the customary bottle. I wouldn't put it past them giving their recent history.
City love to self-choke.

Obviously every one wants to play Inter, AC or Benfica. They are by no means bad teams. The others just look more dangerous.

Who’s missing from the draw that would make it stronger ?
In the last 2-3 years I would argue Liverpool, Barcelona, Chelsea, PSG, and (somewhat) Juventus have all been knockout regulars with better teams than they have now. I would argue Bayern are also no stronger than they have been in the last 5-10 years.

So will you guys support last English teams (Chelsea and MC) in the UCL? EPL prestige and so on

Most storied CL draw, imo would be the following:

City v Napoli - Pep to go into a full OCD mode in his tactics to avoid Napoli's counter. Battle of the CF's in VO vs. EH. Stylistically this makes for a great match-up.

Inter v Milan - A massive Derby that ensures one of the Milan teams a SF spot. Will raise debates as to whether Italian football is back.

Chelsea v Benfica - Enzo returns to Lisbon after breaking his promises. Can another Portugese team slay a PL team?

Real v Bayern - The two biggest aristocrats of football left. However, in one corner the bad face in Real who want to a SL and in the other Bayern, who are the good face with their ownership model and rejection of the first SL.

NO!

Who cares about EPL prestige, especially given there is no threat to the Uefa coefficient at all.

League prestige is only discussed online as banter to other leagues, but barely anybody cares about it in real life, as long as you team wins.

Pretty sure Man Utd fans were happy in the 90s ,when the rest of english teams were very bad in Europe.

I have never been more indifferent to who I'd like to win the CL. I guess Napoli? Such a boring competition this has become.

No. Only English club (other than United) I'd support in CL are Spurs, like I did in 2019. Though that was to large extent because of Pochettino as well.

So when the QF is up Bayern will have played Inter, Barca, PSG and City. Fantastic.

One of Napoli, Benfica and the two Milan clubs will be in the final.

one finalist out of Real, Chelsea, City, Bayern
and the other out of Inter, Benfica, Milan, Napoli
