it’s not Tuchel’s fault Bayern play City in the Quarter’s

There’s some heavy hitters in the directors box tonight, which means the drip needs too be steady and not full throttle
That's the competition though Bayern we're favourites

If you're going to sack a manager with a 75% win ration who's still fighting for all the cups there's no excuse

Also Bayern seem to have no hustle on the counter. So slow to get players forward.

Bayern Munchen are dominant in the game. ManCity are trying to go for counterattacks. I do see goals for this Bayern Munchen team in 2nd half.

Ake is super underrated. Brilliant player. No idea how Chelsea let him go so easily to a rival

Damn @WeePat got there first!
I mean he’s 28 years old now. We let him go when he was 22. He wasn’t this good when we let him go. He wasn’t even this good Bournemouth let him go. Pep has improved him a lot. We’ve had multiple chances to sign him back and chosen not to. He’s incredible though. Chuffed for him.

When was there a true counter situation in this game? Both teams weren't all out attacking before the goal and City certainly was not afterwards.

City treble would be the nightmare. They would have achieved the treble and hattrick of titles in addition to Halaand breaking most premier league records possible. It could catapult their popularity.
Demoted in late June, stripped of all titles and the Dhabis forced to sell to Ricky Hatton!? :wenger:

Was someone singing the opening to the Canadian national anthem there?
Okay, so I'm not hallucinating then. Every time Davies is on the ball, someone loudly screeches 'Oh Canada'.

Not much in it so far but Bayern look blunt in attack despite all the good work they do getting up around the City area.

Missing Choupo at the front and Neuer at the back.
Neuer has at least 10 cm longer reach than Sommer.

The rainbow's end
Akanji and Ake had a very solid half. Grealish and Bernardo are working very hard off the ball for their team. Pep seems to have the defensive shape spot on for this one. Rodri's goal was class. Lots of work to be done for Bayern. Nevertheless, Their ability at one touch football and the vertically of their game can be devastating. Good half of football.

Key points so far

- Musiala press together with Gnabry as CFs. 4-2-4.

- de Bruyne press together with Haaland as CFs. 4-4-2.

- Gündogan is quietly having a very good game. Seems to have mastered Fabregas role in Barcelona as a CM/CF hybrid that get forgotten

- Sane and Coman are playing as natural wingers. Normally they play as inverted wingers.

- Davies is a cheat code. Like Maicon and athletes of that kind he can cover a whole flank by himself, just needs confidence to go for it himself sometimes.

- Bernardo Silva has got the advantage. His trickery gets him past Davies who most of the time can recover but as with the goal he sometimes buys just enough time to pass to an open team mate.

*Coman and Sane have switched flanks after 30 minutes, just after the goal.
I think Haaland should be further up the pitch when they are pressing. He drops too deep which allows Bayern more time on the ball to find a solution. It seems they are focusing on closing passing lanes but the setup allows Bayern to circumvent it.

Bayern is missing a striker and has trouble overloading into/around the box. They get up to the final third but cannot penetrate.

I can't believe that I am saying that Choupo is a much better striker than Gnabry
Well, one is a striker and the other is a SS/RW. Bayern truly shot themselves in the foot by not buying a proper CF post Lewandowski. Mane is not a striker either nor is Müller. It doesn't matter how many coaches try it, within 15 minutes it's clear as say no need to persist for months.
Sane plays like he thinks they're supposed to let him dribble around
He is extremely one footed and a bit slow decision wise if the opportunity to use his left doesn't open up
I've never seen him have a good game in Germany.
You should have seen him as a teenager at Schalke. He was ferocious. Just drove against players with frightening speed. Now he tries to hard to be elegant and shys away from challenges. He doesn't seem to care about football, if he can dominate he will but he won't take the game by the scruff of its neck. Sad, his skill set overlaps with Robbens 90 % but the mentality is the opposite.
Is Muller an assistant manager now?
Well, he has 15 years experience of UCL winning it twice and he is known to be one of the smartest players in the world at interpreting space so it's just smart to pick his brain. Might make him feel important too. Pep did the same with Xabi Alonso and Lahm back in the day.
