Are you guys talking about official companies or is it “I know a guy” type of people?Yes, I tend to agree. In Rome there will be plenty of people willing to take on a security job like that, and you won't get any bother with them on your side.
Shocking thing to happen to them, with his child there too.
3m per year for 2 security guards? Are you having a laugh? Since when do security guards cost more to hire than footballers?Private security is still going to be expensive for your average footballer. Especially when I’d imagine a large portion of players income probably goes in to supporting a lot of family and stuff.
Quick google search you’re going between 1.5 mil for basic up to 3 mil a year for 2 guards. Seen a lot of photos or stories on footballers in the uk going for security dogs.
Not quite security guards though. Ex military, counter terrorism highly trained specialist live in guards. It’s not like your rent a cop rubbish. There will also be a lot more at your disposal I would imagine than 2 guards. Private security is big buisnes.3m per year for 2 security guards? Are you having a laugh? I'd be hoping for Steven Seagal and Jack Bauer for that money. Not quite security guards though. Ex military, counter terrorism highly trained specialist live in guards. Christ, I hate people. His dog at rat poison in the garden, that could've been put there deliberately.
Meticulous planning, I'll give them thatI believe the dog died more than a year back and not now
I can imagine the level of security will be much higher for someone of Beckham's profile. But a mid-level athletic and non-celebrity like Smalling, surely a security guard and some house protection services wouldn't cost a bomb? Of course it wouldn't be enough to stop a carefully orchestrated burglary but I think its enough for deterrence? I'mjust thinking off the top of my head here.Private security costs an absolute fortune. I worked in one while I was studying. Installing and remote monitoring of CCTV and alarm systems cost at least £500k a year. The ones David Beckham uses cost over a £1.5m year. I am not speculating. I know for a fact.
Then you add the costs of the ex army officers they use. The last I knew they had four ex marines. It's not just the wages, its the kits, they need mini housing. You're talking about millions on millions.
David and Victoria had to buy another house on their street just to house the security officers.
I don't think you need Rambo sleeping on the sofa to protect your house from thugs. CCTV, a good alarm system and a top security firm on call monitoring your home would be enough. Not quite security guards though. Really sad to hear, it must've been a terrifying experience!
Out of interest how much does personal security cost? I would guess that 10 grand a week would be more than enough?
Depends on what kind of security. Nowadays, most rich people have at the very least, CCTV/alarm systems with remote monitoring. The monitoring team could be in another city/country. I did that part time while in uni. Top of the line CCTV system with motion sensors, infrared etc can cost upwards of £50,000 per camera, including monitoring. A standard mansion would need at least 10. So just CCTV and alarms could cost anywhere above £500,000 per year.I can imagine the level of security will be much higher for someone of Beckham's profile. This is a one time payment or charged on an annual basis? 500k per year sounds ridiculous. Where is the money going to?Depends on what kind of security. In terms of personnel, you can go from hiring any joe public with an SIA badge from £20 an hour. But against armed burglars, they will be useless. There are companies you can contract things like these to, they might use ex police officers but even those are pricey. A 24 he service would cost nothing less than another £500,000-£1m. But then again, ex-police officers won't help you against an armed gang.
Subsequent years would be cheaper since you're not paying for the cameras but you still need to pay fot maintenance and monitoring. This is a one time payment or charged on an annual basis? 500k per year sounds ridiculous. Where is the money going to?
Strangely optimistic response to the ordeal! I like the way you thinkThe amount of people that get away with these crimes thankfully reminds me that we are not as watched by Big Brother as is made out.
No they weren't held at gunpoint thankfully, but he was at home with his family when they smashed the windows to get in...he then had his family whisked away by United security staff, so I'd say that's pretty horrific as well. Not to downplay what happened to Di Maria but his family weren't held at gunpoint. Luckily they were out to dinner when someone tried but failed to break into their house.
You might be right mate, I googled the story from 2015 earlier and it said he was dining with his family. I had interpreted that as dining out at a restaurant but maybe not, it seems they were at home when someone broke a window trying to get in.No they weren't held at gunpoint thankfully, but he was at home with his family when they smashed the windows to get in...he then had his family whisked away by United security staff, so I'd say that's pretty horrific as well.
Does it happen to Lazio players too? If not it makes you wonder. All Roma players robbed in Rome (13 pages)

Not to sound glib, but wasn’t / isn’t this an issue with Harry & Meghan? The sheer cost of security?Private security is still going to be expensive for your average footballer. Especially when I’d imagine a large portion of players income probably goes in to supporting a lot of family and stuff.

me as well, 2 guys working in shifts, even just with a flashlight and a cellphone eachHe must be on £50K plus a week. Would be no financial stretch to hire a security guard. I know that's what I would do in his position.
My guess. They all live in the same neighbourhood. Think chesire. It's always the same houses. And you know exactly what their schedules are like. You hear about this happening to footballers a lot. Why are they such easy targets? Probably lack of security measures or too much valuables at home?
Either way, it's obvious that criminals plan this type of thing and deliberately target footballers. You might be right mate, I googled the story from 2015 earlier and it said he was dining with his family. Try looking at any animal posts on the Internet, I swear about 85% of people have a PhD in veterinary science. The amount of people in this thread who are experts in security is inspiring
Yeah. 3 mill per year for a few ex vets and they’d be fine is the solution. When monitoring and a few panic alarms (or indeed a room) would be far more effective. The amount of people in this thread who are experts in security is inspiring

If you're face to face with an assailant, they've already failed. All the average footballer needs is decent detection and a saferoom. Get safe, call the cops/local mafia, sorted.Depends on what kind of security. Nowadays, most rich people have at the very least, CCTV/alarm systems with remote monitoring.
