Plying Alan Shearer today...
I think this is unfortunately the case for some. His numbers are good and he offers that presence in the box we lack without Cavani.Good player, but not fancy enough name for The Caf, i'm afraid
If he was called Cristóbal Madera, the caf would be all over him.Good player, but not fancy enough name for The Caf, i'm afraid
Cristiano WoodnaldoIf he was called Cristóbal Madera, the caf would be all over him.
You're saying a backup if Cavani leaves. Cavani is a starter when fit...Not a WUM thread. He always scores a good amount of goals every season. It’s hardly a crazy take.
Lads I’m getting a real dressing down here. You're saying a backup if Cavani leaves. Cavani is a starter when fit...
Who would he be a backup for? Ole has said Greenwood won't become a CF anytime soon. Martial is a backup himself. Rashford isn't a CF.
Improve the starting XI before thinking of buying backups. If you've got underperforming players in the starting XI you turn them into backups and buy improvements for the starting XI. Buying backups to compete with other players who should be backups is insanity.
We have a bang average back up striker, he's called Martial. After this game, he will have scored a goal every 203 minutes for Burnley. 48 goals in 139 games. Last season he scored 1/3 of all Burnley's league goals - so far this season he's on 34%. Those numbers are great. I remember wanting us some years ago to buy Rondon as a second striker to offer something different at a cheap price, so I'm all for suggestions like this.
You've got David McGoldrick? He's a beast, wish he was Irish.
I can sympathise. Way back when I was in the newbies, they did a draft game for young players. I picked Wood, and everyone mocked meLads I’m getting a real dressing down here.
Calling him bang average - on account of this season - is too big of a compliment. We have a bang average back up striker, he's called Martial.
Martial is underperforming, and if Cavani leaves, we'd need 2 strikers. You're saying a backup if Cavani leaves. Cavani is a starter when fit...

As what? A security guard? We should bring Dyche and Wood in
Why do we need budget signings? Arent we supposed to up the level of the squad?Martial is underperforming, and if Cavani leaves, we'd need 2 strikers.
Wood and a starter as replacement for those two, would be pretty nice, in my opinion.
We can't just buy £80 mill players, Wood would be a good budget signing as one of two new strikers. How much wood would Chris Wood... etc.
I'm optimistic that with Greenwood, Amad and Pellistri, we could have good enough cover on the RW for a while, so focus should be on striker, DM and CB.
Bin Ole obviously. As what? A security guard?
You can do that without spending loads. Why do we need budget signings? Arent we supposed to up the level of the squad?
If we want to replace an underperforming Martial and Cavani leaves, we need 2 new strikers, also (in my opinion) we desperately need a quicker and better DM, plus it seems like most agree a new CB is needed, we can't just buy the most expensive player in each position. Why do we need budget signings? Arent we supposed to up the level of the squad?
This thread is so good, it gives me wood!! If Wood scores 5 today- I vote @Solius for thread of the year.OP must have got Wood during this match.
They wanted 50m for Tarkowski, they arent selling a man who scores all of their goals without demanding a huge fee imo.You can do that without spending loads.
I cannot lose.3 goals and an assist now
How about Cristiano Madeira?Good player, but not fancy enough name for The Caf, i'm afraid
That’s a good nickname for Dyche actually. “Bin Ole”Bin Ole obviously.
Well I wouldn't mess with him.As what? A security guard?
RetiredYou've got David McGoldrick?
