Would add much needed creativity to our midfield when we need help against a parked bus, like we did today.

I wonder what jersey number he would take. Maybe #24.

I'm looking at this transfer as a "Either we paid nothing and it doesn't work out, or it'll be a real steal" kind of thing. I'm just wary of saying it's a guaranteed bet after seeing players such as Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger fall a little flat. Still, no fee, quality signing, hope it works out very very well for us! Seems like a quality pro too, which is a plus compared with Pogba.

He is younger than KdB and same age as Salah. Hopefully we get lot of years from him, class player with immense technical ability.

I'm shocked that most Brentford fans will boo him in august when we play them. They hate him now.

I think without Eriksen they would have been in huge trouble for staying up even.

Very odd given we are there for over a week still.
Not really. ETH will have a plan set out to give the young lads minutes as he mentioned in his post match interview today. Why mess that up? A week is not long enough for him to fly out and get up to speed. Really is a great signing. Very exited by this.

He is amazing. Spine could look like:

RB ---------- Varane ------------ MArtinez -----------LB

----------------Eriksen-----------------Frenkie----------------

---------------------------------Bruno------------------------------

RW---------------------------Ronaldo-----------------------LF

Great news.

It's baby steps building the kind of squad that can seriously challenge again. But, at this stage, this is very much the kind of signing to improve our style of play, dressing room spirit, etc.

A terrific bit of business. His potential influence has been dismissed by a lot of people, but I think he will be a really big player for us.

Interesting that Murtough's quote emphasises Eriksen is an attacking midfielder. I don't disagree but it makes you wonder if we are heading towards having a top heavy squad again.

PS) I'd be a bit worried if I was Van de Beek
What's for VDB to worry about? He isn't any good, I doubt he has any false hopes about getting in the team anymore.

There's some mental gymnastics being played to suggest we can integrate Bruno Eriksen and VDB and give them all enough games.

I don't see it at all. One of them will be obsolete and we'll be questioning at the end of the season why we had 3 senior players vying for the same role in the team.

First time in a while I am tempted to buy a shirt with a name.

What number you guys reckon?

Always been a big fan, real quality player. I'd see this as an upgrade on Juan Mata as that player who isn't necessarily the most physical but is fantastic to have in your side when you're facing two walls of 5 in home games at OT

Finally done! A transfer with little risk of downside and a decent chance of being a success. Hope he is ready for the new season and means Bruno has to earn his place in the team.

This is a great signing. Proven quality and will in no way bring the kind of circus act that Pogba brought with him.

Lost Pogba who was on 350k and signed Eriksen as his replacement for half of his wages. Has there been a better deal for us ?
Lovely little swap, very happy with it.

Pogba at his very best and when he's purring is better of course. But Eriksen is a much better fit for United. He'll be loved here.

Any shirt number guesses anyone? Would love to see the number 18 back on a little, light-haired technical midfield wizard again

Nice to see that more technical players are added to the team. Im all for more technical ability in players and less of the passion and desire type of player

Great bit of business on a free transfer! Chuffed with that. He is a quality player and a good personality.

That’s quite a weak spine. Also…not to beat that drum again…but Ronny wouldn’t be in my first 11 next season. Super sub or Saudi Arabia I reckon.

I still think we need at least 1 ball winner in midfield...

John Murtough, Manchester United Football Director, said:
“Christian has been one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe throughout his career."

Really? Christian? you ruined his big day Murtough.

Eriksen can play deeper in midfield though.

Bring on City and Liverpool. Eriksen, FDJ and Bruno can actually dominate a midfield against City and Pool. Been so waiting for it .

Cracking signing. Think People still don't know what we are getting . If Ronaldo has his shooting boots on, he would easily be the top scorer this year.
Not so fast, we still need a solid defensive foundation in there for that to happen so doubt that'll happen.
Still we should see the midfield markedly improve this season.

VDB hasn't earned the right to play any games yet so he doesn't need to be considered at all.

He is poor wherever we play him

It's important how ETH sees him, not Murtough.

The best thing about this signing is that I have no doubt whatsoever that ETH knows how to use him. None of the usual Man Utd 18 month/loan/bench warming integration period. This guy will be one of the first names on the team sheet soon.

Looking forward to seeing him in United shirt!
As i've said before, he's going to play A LOT, not backup as many thinks, and he's going to be our best player this season, as i called the other day!
