Aye, it's a bit weird. I mean he's been a bit lazy in pre season and he has his inconsistent runs but generally he's pretty professional and he runs his arse off for the team. Why is Eriksen's integrity being questioned here? He's hardly Neymar.
That’s inevitable when he’s been carrying the entire creative burden of an overachieving, high intensity team for the past 6 years, while also starring for his national team - he’s never rotated and covers a lot of ground per game; it’s impossible to sustain peak form in such circumstances.I failed to really take a close look at him last season - my Spurs friend, who is a season ticket holder, said he's obviously productive over the course of a season but can be frustrating in some string of games with his output. Does this sound accurate?
Money he's getting at Spurs is a third of what he could get at United.Money aside, he has no reason to join United. We're a worse team than Spurs and he if wants to leave for ambition reasons, there are other clubs he can go to.
In this case, there is a worthy argument to make about his wage being a factor. He's on £75k a week and should be making a lot more.Money aside, he has no reason to join United. We're a worse team than Spurs and he if wants to leave for ambition reasons, there are other clubs he can go to.
Nope, everything is dead and nothing is happening so we have to cling on anything to keep our hopes alive of reinforcements. Come Friday it's going to be to a lot of tears on here.Anyone reliable reporting this?
Tears of joy?Nope, everything is dead and nothing is happening so we have to cling on anything to keep our hopes alive of reinforcements. Come Friday it's going to be to a lot of tears on here.
Defeatist shite like this from our own fans makes my pi$$ boil! Yeah, of course there’d be no reason to join United other than money....catch yourself on.Money aside, he has no reason to join United. We're a worse team than Spurs and he if wants to leave for ambition reasons, there are other clubs he can go to.
Are there? Who wants him? What have they bid?Money aside, he has no reason to join United. We're a worse team than Spurs and he if wants to leave for ambition reasons, there are other clubs he can go to.
We’re living off the name, basically. Literally any other footballing reason than that would do.Unless you're name is Harry Small Pond Kane, there isnt a person on earth who would rather play for Spurs than Man United. What forum am I on here? This is the most famous sports franchise in the world. "why would he come to us." Christ.
Ahh we are at that stage now.Nope, everything is dead and nothing is happening so we have to cling on anything to keep our hopes alive of reinforcements. Come Friday it's going to be to a lot of tears on here.
Spot on!!!Are there? Who wants him? What have they bid?
Also, how the feck are we a worse team than Spurs? For a start how are we with Eriksen worse than Spurs without Eriksen?
If you have a shed of belief in you as a footballer, you'd come to this club as a leader with the idea you are good enough to bring this club back to competing for trophies and in Europe. That's why Pogba came back. He was under the impression there was a revolution going on at Old Trafford (or "project" as is the new buzzword) with Mourinho, Zlatan, world record fees being touted etc. But as usual with the owners, they want to be half pregnant and not address other areas. We have a base for a fantastic footballing side. A solid back 4 who can play football. A top keeper. A world cup winner in the middle. And some tremendous young lads raised in Manchester, playing direct football from a young age. With some proper additions, this could be a brilliant side. We’re living off the name, basically. I'm sure the mountain of cash he and his agent pocketed was entirely incidental! If you have a shed of belief in you as a footballer, you'd come to this club as a leader with the idea you are good enough to bring this club back to competing for trophies and in Europe. Players like Dylaba, Di Maria etc. never fit with this club anyway. Kluivert turned us down. Nadal turned us down. Loads of Spanish, French and Italian legends told us "no" back when we were winning everything. Getting in superstars has never been that important to our success. Getting proper players in is. And Eriksen fits that mould.
Well there is that!I'm sure the mountain of cash he and his agent pocketed was entirely incidental!
Eriksen might also be swayed by a 300% increase in salary, but we'd still have the problem of persuading Daniel Levy to sell him to us.
But if he waits until January he can sign a pre-contract with any club he wants, quite possibly in the 350-400K per week range given that the winning club won't have to pay any transfer fee at all. Aaron Ramsey got 400K per week from Juventus and had other suitors as well and Eriksen is the better player. In this case, there is a worthy argument to make about his wage being a factor. He's on £75k a week and should be making a lot more.
You have to think he's off to somebody this Summer.
It’s a fair post and I do agree with most of it, I just don’t think you could blame Eriksen for turning us down if he does/has. We’re a bigger club, sure, but they’ve got a lot more going for them at the minute, including their own project which is a lot further along than ours. They also have a much more proven coach, and at 28(?) or whatever he is, those things start to take priority. If you have a shed of belief in you as a footballer, you'd come to this club as a leader with the idea you are good enough to bring this club back to competing for trophies and in Europe. It's great if we bring him in and I'd be delighted but his motivation would likely just be the money if he's going to leave the CL finalists and a Top 4 team to move to a United team at a time when, reportedly, there are other sides interested in him. As long as he performs, I don't care what his motivations are but I can't see him coming here if better teams are interested.Defeatist shite like this from our own fans makes my pi$$ boil! Yeah, of course there’d be no reason to join United other than money....catch yourself on.
There’s a lot of quality and talented youngsters in the squad and he might just be sold on the project to get us back where we belong and might think he’s the man to be the catalyst to take us to that next level. Feck me, you’d think we were a Championship outfit with feck all history the way some of you lot bang on.
This would be an ambitious move by the club and we should be feeling the same way...we don’t get our club back if we don’t bother trying to sign top talent. There will be some big names that fancy it and these are the ones with the right character that we want. We are United for fecks sake!!!
They just made a CL final and more often than not, finish above us in the PL now. We're competing in the Europa League. Also, if they do sell him, they'll probably replace him adequately. Are there? Who wants him? What have they bid?
Also, how the feck are we a worse team than Spurs? For a start how are we with Eriksen worse than Spurs without Eriksen?
This is the Muppet Train, sir. No sources required, never mind reliable ones.Anyone reliable reporting this?
That makes sense. But whether its Erickson or some else is another matter. I can see Levy dragging this out to Thurs afternoon to close the deal.Maybe we pulled the plug on the Dybala deal due to getting very positive vibes from the Eriksen camp?
Daniel Harris who has worked for The Guardian, has said we've made a offer. And he's generally a good journo with a decent track record.

He might end up having his pick of clubs like Madrid, Barca, United, City, PSG, etc in five months at very very high wages. This is not a knock on United, but the only way it makes sense for him to commit his future now is if you pay him an absurd amount of money. And why pay him that much money plus a big transfer fee to Spurs? At that point you might as well have signed Dybala because the cost will be similar.
The more you break down this situation, the less and less sense it makes for the various parties involved to do anything but wait until January and try to cut Spurs out of the picture.
That makes no sense. The rumor is that Ole doesn't want to add players who don't want to be at United. Hence, Dybala deal was supposedly cancelled. But somehow we are willing to add a player whose coming to United because we'd be offering more money than Spurs. Hmmm.... this sounds vaguely familiar. An attacking midfielder who played in London and had one year left on his contract and decides to move to United because we offered him more in wages....Maybe we pulled the plug on the Dybala deal due to getting very positive vibes from the Eriksen camp?

Recent Champions League finalists or a club that has been in crisis for six years and doesn't seem to know its way out of it quite yet... What a difficult choice.Unless you're name is Harry Small Pond Kane, there isnt a person on earth who would rather play for Spurs than Man United. What forum am I on here? This is the most famous sports franchise in the world. "why would he come to us." Christ.
That is ridiculous.Eriksen maybe a good player but to hell with giving Spurs money so that they can go and buy a younger replacement in Bruno when we should be doing that instead. The fact that Eriksen is willing to ditch Spurs to come to United is enough reason for me to not what him here since he's only coming here for the money and it's not like he's a die hard United fan. I rather not haver anymore signings than have Eriksen come here.
