And it's goodbye Chelsea,
Goodbye Chelsea FC,
You're by far the most boring team,
I think I've ever seen!

You've done it before,
You've done it before!
Knocked out in the semis,
You've done it before!

Terry crying = almost as much joy as watching Gerrard's slip (maybe more, it's a tough one).

Was quite a good game actually, far more enjoyable than the 1st leg.

A lot of bitterness and contempt towards mourinho I have noticed. I understand why people don't like him, but I think the reaction is way to strong. What has he done recently to deserve such a reaction. Its been a while since he has done anything majorly controversial as far as I remember. He has had a good season and has definitely not failed. You don't fail going out in the semi finals. Its not so black and white where if you win you are a success and lose a failure. His team counterattacked like Madrid yesterday and Madrid got praise. The only difference is the result it seems
I think in general managers get way too much praise. Because of that the criticism will be over the top when they fail. It is just the other side of the coin.

I felt sorry for mourinho watching that interview with Geoff shreeves. People are going to throw the fact that Madrid are in the final in his face after he couldn't get them there, but he has played a massive part in the building of this team and we wouldn't be here without him. I will always be grateful to mourinho. I will always wish the teams he manages well, as long as its not against madrid

I know what you mean, but the reaction to mourinho is crazy. It was the same at Madrid and at Madrid there is a constant circus but the way things were when mourinho was there was like nothing I have ever seen. Every time we won people were queuing up to praise him and call him the best and say how much they love him and then when we would lose in the semi finals people were waiting to mock him and celebrate him losing and to belittle him as a manager. Everything seems so personal with him and I think it is an overreaction to him both when he wins and loses. Things are much calmer now that he is gone, but I think he deserves praise for the way this Madrid team has played this year although I know he wouldn't agree with that

Now I don't mind Xabi Alonso's yellow card yesterday anymore! He will be a big miss! So glad Koke didn't see yellow today! Can actually see Atletico winning the final! Hope they do, would be amazing! They won't have another year like this so soon again.

I feel it's written in the stars for Atletico to go and Win the League and Champs now, the underdogs going against the financial powerhouses and getting to the last leg to potentially win it, Football eh, Bloody Hell !

Mourinho was just the coach at RM, the array of expensive players was brought in by others. He couldn't coach them to a CL but Ancelotti probably will. Fail.
Its true he had great resources, but so do city, Bayern, barca, Chelsea and united to a certain extent too. Before he came we were getting dumped out of the cl in the last 16 for six years in a row. That is the definition of fail. Mourinho brought Madrid back amongst the elite in Europe and while more was expected of him that certainly is not failure in my book, unless you look at everything so simply and in black and white. He played a big part in this seasons Madrid team and ancelloti improved it further with his great expertise.

He had the most expensive team in Europe with Ronaldo the cherry on the top but still failed to reach a final. Fail.

"TransferScoop"?

Would be great if that quote is true but it sounds like your typical twitter troll quote.

Great stuff. Hazard is bang on the mark but it'll be fun seeing the Chelsea fans squirm/take sides between Mourinho and Hazard.

Nope! Guardiola deserved the critisicm for yesterday! But same with Jose for today and his underdog tactics in the 1st leg.
That's fair enough, but would you not agree that Mourinho has improved Chelsea more than Guardiola has improved Bayern? I'm not even a Mourinho fan fwiw, I just don't think it's fair to compare what he has to work with compared to Guardiola.

I know it shouldn't be the case when you compare the amount of money each has spent on transfers, but Chelsea were arguably facing the better team as well.

Should have said it to Torres.
Im sure Torres would have been pleased to answer the question to be honest. He applauded the Atletico fans during his substitution. I don't think he enjoys his football in England anymore.

Mourinho on the other hand, dodged it as I think Shreeves was sticking the knife in him for 'failing' at Madrid, specifically with the Champions League.

Well how do u improve a treble winning team? I think Bayern were always going to go one way this season which was not defending the treble. They might still win the double (although I will be rooting for Dortmund).

I thought the problem for Chelsea tonight was they didn't try to park the bus. They tried to engage in a game of football but were fecked as soon as Madrid got the equaliser. They're just too good of an all round team to get away with being organised but mediocre against.

The first half was pretty close but the second half was a bitch slapping. Even before the second and third goals went in Athletico were all over them.

David Luiz is literally one step towards clown like behaviour away from coming out in full face make up and splatting pies in people's faces. Cahill got shown up I thought. Hazard was obviously caught out on two of the goals. Not only do Athletico have more reliable/solid players in general, but to a man they almost never put a foot wrong during a game.

To be fair to Chelsea they probably did better than any of the other English teams would have.

True, it's not easy by any stretch, but they could have put up more of a fight. They were fortunate to even get as far as they did anyway imo, Arsenal were unlucky and anything could have happened had Ozil scored that penalty. We took the lead against them twice and again anything could have happened had we not conceded seconds after scoring in Germany.

You have to remember that while Arsenal have had a good season, they were missing their two most important players against Munich and had to play a huge chunk of the first leg with 10 men. We were at our lowest point for a couple of decades so beating us wasn't exactly much to shout about anyway. They were lucky to even top their group let's not forget, City could have potentially nabbed it had they saved some money to buy a calculator.

Madrid was arguably their first really big test in the CL this season and they came up seriously short. Was probably Madrid's first big test as well to be fair, Schalke and an injury ravaged Dortmund weren't exactly the sternest competition.

Winning the Ballon D'or is his career highlight. He'd take another one of them over another Champs league.
Nah. I don't doubt the selfishness in his determination, but a Champions League win trumps a glorified version of a kids sunday league trophy. Especially when you can legitimately say you were the main reason your team won it.

I couldn't care less if he wins another one though. I don't really see it as changing our last CL win in any way, and much as I admire him as a player, Ronaldo even at United always played for Ronaldo, so I don't feel like there's that much of an attachment really.

Perhaps in the 09 season but don't really agree before that. I have an attachment to him, he's the best player I've ever seen live.
