They’re filming season 3 as we speak and I already see spoilers reported as news.
I know people love Clarkson but here are legitimate concerns in and around that area due to the farm. Traffic on those narrow roads must be a nightmare alone. Places like that simply aren’t built for it
and the council response to them building a car park was to reject it, they put no parking cones on either side of the narrow road for 2km, and even rejected their requested to build a farm road on the farm.

I'm sure there are genuine reasons to worry about traffic on those roads but it seems more like an excuse from a council that are trying to out-wanker the King of Wankers, and win a fight again him. The problem is that it won't even bother him for long as he'll move on to something else to do. Meanwhile local farmers are losing their livelihoods and the restaurant was something they were over the moon to be involved with.

The other side of the argument to my spoiled response is that the show might well be showing everything from Clarkson's perspective only.

That’s kind of what I’m saying. It’s hard to give Clarkson the benefit of the doubt when the lambing shed did change from what it was intended to be in under 12 months.
They could allow this and that but in two years it just might be a forgotten eye sore from a mid 60s man filming a tv show.
I’m a farmer and I understand the struggles but he simply seems to be a tillage farmer since that’s the only consistent farming he does so it’s hard to pretend he’s branched into other areas when they don’t last long.
Not saying the council is correct or anything but it does smell of creating props for a tv show.

Watched the first episode of S3 yesterday, it's absolutely gold!

Charlie's reaction to all of Clarkson's harebrained ideas is epic as well

First four episodes are very good. 3 seasons in and little sign of it slipping. He does such a good job of highlighting the issues farmers, and builders to a lesser extent, face.

I've never seen an episode but the ads for the new season really don't make me want to watch it.

Have you followed it from series one?
In series one Clarkson highlights that the government are trying to get farmers to diversify, to find other sources of income.
Despite this, West Ox district council have done everything they can to stop him doing just that, I'm sure there are other farmers in other districts having the same problem.
West Ox DC are being unreasonable, if it were any other farm, then yes maybe a car park only big enough for ten cars would be OK, with Clarkson it's different, people go there in the hope that he, Lisa or Kaleb will be standing around signing autographs and chatting to people.
I've been to the shop a couple of times, (Once when it opened, and then to take a friend), all of the produce is very overpriced, yet people buy it.
On the farming side, he is showcasing the problems farmers are having, the costs involved and the amount of work that goes into putting our food on the table.
As others have said the guy is marmite, watching this may not change your mind about him, but it may educate you a little about the plight of farmers in this country.

Yeah, I've been watching it from the start. Despite my socialist "we should all get along, no matter how we're born, except if you're born Tory" outlook on life, I still have a soft spot for Jezza.

He's never been one for soothing the public mindset towards him, so if he looks like he cares in the show then I'm inclined to believe that it's honest and not a PR stunt. If he says on the show that he wants to do this to help fellow farmers then I believe him, because ultimately he could give the whole thing up if he wanted and make millions - to go alongside his already vast wealth - doing some more TV work.

I agree with you about the council being unreasonable. I've worked with a few councillors before (well, I've ended up telling them how to do their fecking jobs, but that's another story), and for the most part they're power hungry wankers.

It's genuinely brilliant. Clarkson has is occasional moment where he's a dramatic twat, but it also has it's moment where his ability as a journalist shines through.

In other words; it's entertaining but also insightful. He's grown to love farming and it shows.

Say what you like about Clarkson but the tv show is genuinely great. Seems to get better and better each season.

Little bit of injected drama, but farming provides an abundance of natural cock ups, meaning they dont need to script any. And it's very insightful about stuff like regenerative farming, wilding etc

Or perhaps he is using his known wealth to highlight the plight of all farmers.
In this season the sheep are back, and he bring forward the problems pig farmers face, it's quite funny how he sets the boar to all the sows in the matter of a couple of weeks, and thinks it's great until Kaleb points out he's going to be inundated with piglets for 6 weeks or more!

Yeah I love this. Shows a side to Clarkson that is never really present throughout the car shows. He’s really emphasised just how hard farming is whilst being so bloody important to us all too.

The council twats are on a total power trip. It was good to hear Jeremy briefly admit they (the farm) were taking the piss a bit at the start though.

I've just watched episode 4 it was very sad.

Was also surprised how much pork he got back too from the slaughtered pigs.

Just a sidenote: I am always surprised how many people are surprised by these things. For me it was pretty normal that every half year a pig was butchered at home in my family

When it comes to pigs, the only thing you can't eat is the "oink"

I’d have told that prick on the Downing Street door to do one. Don’t knock so loud or I’ll throw you out? Wanker.

They did better. They included it on the show - after which I bet he got a proper bollocking off the Downing Street PR machine.

Kaleb in London..

"I love London? feck that" as he passes a stall.

The pedestrian crossing when the light goes green

"What is that?" "no, what is that?"

Then him trying to be nice to passers by and them all being miserable cnuts just sums London up.

Then seconds later you get the knobhead complaining about a loud knock which wasn't even loud.

I'd have told him to do one, and leave him to explain to the PM why two guests didn't turn up

So with the
sick pig, why doesn't he just kill it and sell it to the abbitior? Are humans able to eat sick animals?

Let's face it he must be loving life now. Amazon probably dropping big money on it and he doesn't even have to really leave home.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Loved everyone on it except for the West Oxfordshire District Council, they can feck off. Coming from a country which has minimal domestic natural products and a tiny farming industry, where we import almost everything, makes me appreciate and respect these farmers a whole lot more. I read on reddit that it's a general consensus that this series is a more realistic portrayal of farming and its industry than anything that's been shown on TV before.

In series 2 he mentions that not every farmer can earn £50k a show for hosting Who Wants To Be a Millionaire

I think it was in series one, when he was talking to Charlie about them being difficult to deal with, Charlie comments that "Blowing up your house probably didn't help"

Yes that annoyed me too. It's not as if they were knocking hard, to me it seemed like a normal knock? Clearly the doorman was on a bit of a power trip

@Matt Varnish had it right - should’ve left and let the knobhead explain why they didn’t show up. As if meeting that weasel Sunak is worth it anyway.

Yes I understand the initial apprehension (especially towards Clarkson) but it all became too personal and juvenile. Makes for good TV, I guess. The economical benefits for the other farms as a collective should've been reason enough to approve it to be honest. It's not as if he was applying to build a casino or hotel there. If it's a true representation of all the red tape farmers have to go through, then certain procedures are completely absurd.
