I don't blame him for wanting to leave with the window we've had. I respect him for actually thinking of staying with no UCL football and the club hasn't acted in the market while our rivals for top 4 have all strengthened except Chelsea as a result of an owner change. Nunez to Liverpool hurt, period. I'm sure the club made assurances to him for him to stay and that they've not followed through on them.

He can still stay IF they make it right and there is still time to do that. Stop wasting time and announce 3 signings now and Cristiano will be in training the next day.
Jesus, this is a car crash of a post

It’s going to suck if no one wants him. Highly likely though because this time last year we didn’t want him either.
Exactly this.
Ronaldos ego won't be able to accept that no (big) clubs are in for his signature.
This will create a negative atmosphere in the dressing room which will be a disaster for the upcoming season. The last thing we need is a split dressing room.

The club won't do it because he has a valuable commercial asset but I'd bet ten Hag would be happy if both parties terminated the contract

Ronaldo to Chelsea cannot and will not happen. Why would we give them a striker when they are our rivals?
Because he'd rock up there, finish their top scorer but the team itself would implode.. he makes teams worse so that he can be top dog.

Fantastic news. New era means not having really old legs in the team.
I get where you are coming from but ‘fantastic’ might be a bit much. Seeing one of our greatest ever players leave the club, possibly to Chelsea is perhaps something that has to be done, and somewhat out of the clubs hands, but it’s not a good look. I do think you are right, ETH will prefer to work with younger and more mobile players. I feel Rangnick was hamstrung to a degree trying to shoehorn Ronaldo into his philosophy/style of play. A clean break is best for all.

I’m not so sure. He arrived at United in a very dysfunctional unit, which had achieved a 2nd place finish purely based on Fernandes’ flashes of brilliance. As soon as the poo hit the fan the whole team fell apart. Chelsea are a very functional unit, they just need a striker. I know people will say “but they had Lukaku”, let’s be real though, Lukaku is a flat track bully. Serie A is essentially premier league quality from the top half down, if even that. Lukaku is a hit and run merchant, Ronaldo has proven over the best part of 20 years that he is one of the greatest players of all time. People are too quick to forget just how amazing a player he was, and still is/can be in the correct system.

Does anyone know if United are in training today?

They were off yesterday, so I assume they'll just resume training in Thailand.

I would have liked to see him here for another season, I know people are saying he wouldn`t fit into ETH team but I think he could have.
Looks like the writing is on the wall and probably best for both parties though if he left.
I do wonder where he will go though. Really can`t see us selling him to Chelsea and i`m not sure where that leaves him apart from Bayern being the obvious choice if Lewa leaves but it just doesn`t feel like a very Bayern signing.

That is the thing, he is the system. If they don't play a way that feeds him then he is essentially not even playing. He offers absolutely nothing outside of the 18 yard box other than strops and arm throwing.

Ronaldo was never a team player but even less so now, he's a selfish award chaser with no care for the team or players around him.

We should get a forward of course and might miss his goals but overall play may benefit from him leaving.
People dont take into account that by the way we'll play players might get into good positions and into chances more often than last year and our forwards will certainly benefit from that.
Also new manager is a breath of fresh air so the likes of Rashford and Martial might find new life and enjoy themselves again. Martial I doubt though but I can see Rashford finding his form again. Fingers crossed.

I agree. Players will have more freedom to move around and play to their advantage instead of to Ronaldo's.
He always wanted the ball, even when the player was in a better position to shoot himself, or use another pass.
Even Fernandes game suffered because he always looked for Ronaldo when a simple pass to Elanga or Sancho might have got us a goal.

As much as I love the player I think this is for the best for everyone. I loved his comeback and he performed better than expected - but we really need a fresh start under Ten Hag and hopefully we can get rid of everyone that doesn’t want to be a part of it, instead of having them around and stinking the place up. We need our best players to be motivated and working the hardest to set an example for all the others.

Not enough if it's to Chelsea. They are a direct rival for top 4 so they should be paying more
I hope he ends up at Chelsea. He would only create problems for them on and off the pitch.

And maybe if he goes to another PL contender people will shut up about him being a United legend.

Let’s do it. Can’t wait to see the tantrums he throws at Werner.

Yeah, forgot Bruno, we might see him back to his old self or close to it.

Then Ronaldo on hes own won about 5 CL then?

Then hes is utterly and by far the greatest player the world has ever seen.

Oh and you are an fool. If you think he plays for himself, what about Greenwood, Rashford and Martial? They are even worse. And they arent really that good either. Atleast for what is expected for a United player.

It will be an utterly baffling decision to go public with this if he hasn’t got an ironclad offer from a CL club already.

All good and dandy acquiescing to a sale if there's a market for him but is there really outside of a direct league rival who may or may not want him?

This type of opinion made sense at the start of last season but feels like some have already forgot the reality of the season gone where he very much wasn't a poacher. Some strange gaslighting going on.

Actually wouldnt care if he went to Chelsea.

I'm more worried and looking forward to watching us improve and putting in good performances each week then worrying about chasing teams. Watching the ones that want to improve and be part of ETH project.

End of day Ronaldo doesn't want to be here, so no point in holding on to him. He goes for free next summer anyways.

He won't be putting in 100% each week if he does stay.

It's his own fault. I'm sure he wants to be in peak form going in to his last world Cup so he won't be if he stays with us. Better off elsewhere.
