It been confirmed Beckham, RVN and loads of other players have been the same.
Ruud was similar interms of being unhappy if he did not score but he regrets that behaviour (see his interview with G.Neville on the overlap) and actually used to thank his teammates for assists unlike Cristiano.

Beckham was never obsessed with scoring. He was happy to create.

My take on the scum is that he is pretty much about himself. He never played for the team. For him, it was about the limelight and in football, it's the goalscorer who gets the limelight regardless of everything else hence the obsession.

Nonsense. Ruud was - as any striker should be - obsessed with scoring goals but it was far from everything being about himself as much as it was/is with Ronaldo.

As for Beckham, while he cared about his looks, his hair cut and loved the cameras, when it came to actual football he was as much a team player as anyone could be. His decision making when a teammate was in a better position was almost always right (he passes the ball) and he genuinely celebrated goals scored by his teammates. His defensive work and that he could run the whole game alone should tell you how much he played for the team.

Whereas with Ronaldo 99% he only celebrated his teammates’ goals (and mostly even that only reluctantly), when he himself had already scored in the same game. His celebration for the 4-1 pen in that CL final perfectly summed him up. Celebrated more than Ramos did his priceless equaliser. Brilliant player but utter cringe.

"I'm 38 years old, also European football has lost lot of quality... only valid one is Premier League, they're way ahead of all the other leagues".

He's right about that and the only quote here that's not mainly about his ego.

He opened the door to Saudi spending crazy money, he must be funding it himself then.

I think he needs to take a dig at MLS but the reality is what he and a certain Argentinian do in their respective leagues doesn't matter anymore.

Their European and international career matter.

Not about his ego? The guy was desperately trying to facilitate a move to Bayern. There were even rumours that he wanted to join Dortmund.

Maybe Ruben Neves went to Saudi because CR7 tapped him up

They offered me the GDP of a developing nation to come here and I said yes. Since then, they have been offering the GDP of developing nations to other players and they are all following because I am here.

And this dude is the role model for some people? Maybe on a professional level but on a human level his personality is trash

Of Course.

All about Ronaldo nothing to do with the money.

I'd love to hear this quote in context: "Saudi league is better than MLS". Sounds so petty

Have you read the other quotes? Of course, he's being a hypocrite but there's at least a bit of reflection here with mentioning his age.

I didn't expect him to hold the EPL in such high regard. Personally, I think he's underrated the extent of Serie A's "revival".

- Napoli topped a group with Liverpool
- Inter qualified in a group which had Bayern Munich and Barcelona and were the side in the UCL final with the clearer chances.
- The last four seasons of the Serie A has had four different winners and three different runners up.
- Securing Champions League football is intense with Inter, Milan, Atalanta, Roma and Juventus all at times looking like they could miss out.

Serie A has improved significantly. He somewhat acknowledges that with the "revived" but then is dismissive of the league with his glowing appraisal of the EPL. The next challenge will be to keep their star players. We've already seen Kim is on his way to Bayern. Can they preserve the likes of Rafael Leao, Kvaratskhelia etc.`

He really thinks players are joining that league because of him? He is such a deluded idiot.

I kind of feel bad for him. Being so successful, but still feeling the need to constantly validate himself at every opportunity. Sounds like a miserable place to be in.

Sure mate sure. Everybody believe you.

He opened up the door to Saudi league, not the obscene money.. He's such a huge self obsessed prick.

This. His ego is so fragile. You’d think he would outgrow it.

I can't help but feel like he is going to be a very very wealthy but miserable ex-footballer soon. The Michael Jackson of the football world. Has everything but the thing he wants/needs.

It must be impossible to be happy when you’re that famous. I used to believe fame would make me happy

Now I’m absolutely sure if you put the 100,000 happiest people on earth in one place, not one of them would be famous

There are no legal reasons for Ronaldo to stay away from the US. Why are you lying?

Has that issue been resolved? I’m glad for him then. Must be nice not to face consequences for one’s actions.

Yeah I thought this too.

Pretty amazing for all the money he has, the trophies he's won, the goals he's scored, that he still seems so unhappy. I wouldn't go as far as to say I feel sorry for him but it's pretty noticeable how thin skinned he still is.

Let it go man... this is so embarrassing to hear from one of the greatest football players ever. His narcistic character is the main reason for being a very unlikeable person

Messi goes to USA to enjoy a good time with his family while staying humble. This guy goes to Saudi to brag and boost his ego, at this point its just becoming sad

Why does he need to talk? He doesn’t exactly help himself and the picture of himself by saying stuff. What happened last couple of years with this guy who could be considered one of the best ever?
