Nice game so far by him, Barcelona's defense goes into panic whenever he's near the ball.

36 in two months.
Couldn’t tell when you see him on the pitch. Still has 2 probably 3 years of top football in him. If he still chooses to play after that he can probably come to Portugal or go to MLS at 40 and score another 20 a season at least.

Messi was always a legendary great player but he significantly relied on Iniesta and Xavi for me.

Ronaldo was much more solo

nope, without the best midfield in the world behind him ronaldo gets bounced just as early in cl. Only had five touches today, 7/10 at best today but still the best CL player in history

8 goals in 6 games in Serie A
4 goals in 4 games in CL
(Overall 12 goals in 10 games)

Maybe he can even catch up with Haaland stats this season (17 goals in 14 games)

Just looked him up, 12 goals in 10 game for Juve this season... slow down man  Himself and Messi pumping out insane numbers over and over and over again, keeping ahead of the rest 15 years after breaking through (barring last few months with Messi) is simply insane. Two titans of sport.

It seems like so many players have almost a goal a game stats - wonder why. It seems more common this year or maybe I’m wrong.

Ronaldo 10 games 12 goals
Haaland 14 games 17 goals
Lewandowski 16 games 16 goals
Ibrahimovic 10 games 11 goals (if you look at Serie A only, it’s 6 games 10 goals)

interestingly enough all of these players are in Serie A and Bundesliga. I’m not sure anyone from La Liga or EPL has these stats.

I am not sure if thats so many, as you could only name 4 of them.

Lewandowski is the best striker in the game right now, so you can't say its a suprirse at all. I mean, just look at his past record:

15-16: 42 goals in 51 games
16-17: 43 goals in 47 games
17-18: 41 goals in 48 games
18-19: 40 goals in 47 games
19-20: 55 goals in 47 games

Haaland is the generational type of talent and probably the best young striker the world have ever seen, he is destined to greatness. Every decade or so we may have one of those players. Just look at his stats last season:

19-20: 44 goals in 40 games (Red Bull + Dortmund)

Ronaldo is GOAT and probably the best ever goalscorer the world have ever seen. He has scored 750+ goals already and he is very near to all time record (going above Pele, Puskas, Muller, and all other the greatest ever strikers in the past). He scored 450 goals in 438 games for Real Madrid during his peak years.

The only surprise here is Ibra due to his age, although he did have near goal per game couple of times throughout his career:

13-14: 41 goals in 46 games (PSG)
14-15: 31 goals in 37 games (PSG)
15-16: 50 goals in 51 games (PSG)
18-19: 31 goals in 31 games (LA Galaxy)

And of course in the past decades or so, we have Messi and Ronaldo having a goal per game stats every season after season after seasons too. So at least 2 players have it all the time. Then sometimes Suarez nearly has it, sometimes Neymar nearly has it, sometimes Salah or Kane nearly has it too. They are all from La Liga or EPL.

By the way, this is Kane stats this season:

14 goals in 18 games.

So, don't count him out yet.

:lol::lol: That's a hot streak of penalties. This Genoa defense likes to play with fire. Dumb 2nd penalty.

I said probably.

Sure Pele and L.Ronaldo are better young player. I regard them as forward rather than pure striker.

In terms of goalscoring in pure striker role, Haaland should be as good though, if not better. He scored 44 goals last season as a 19 year old, he has 17 goals in 14 games so far at age 20. L.Ronaldo scored 35 goals at age 18, 19 goals at age 19 (injured, at age 20 he scored 47 goals. Their stats are at the very least comparable at around same age.

At this age even though he could certainly, in goalscoring rates, overperform the best strikers like he has done his whole career, it's gonna be hard to catch up to Haaland or say Lewa, or Kane if he keeps up the form. Coaches are just gonna have him rest enough that he's most likely to only do 40-44 games per season and not 52-60 like other players.

Don’t get too excited, 6 of them have been penalties.
So that means 8 non-penalty goals in 11 games then, still far better than any of our players . Or probably anyone else in the league too. Would do straight swap with Pogba in a heartbeat.

I am not sure which other players you are referring to here?

Only Lewan gets 50+ goals once in his career, avg around 47 games per season. Haaland got 44 goals last season, he only managed at most 40 games, but he is still young so he surely has the potential to reach that mark one day. Kane has only one season scored more than 40 goals, his avg around 25-30 goals per season, in avg 40-50 games. Messi hasn’t been scoring many goals these days.

So who are the other players you are referring to guarantee 50-60 games and hence 50+ goals this and coming seasons? (Assume Ronaldo will get 40+ goals in 40+ games only, based on his current stats)

Currently Ronaldo is already catching up with them in numbers, even though he has been out for 3 weeks due to COVID.

1. Haaland - 17 goals in 14 games (played 3 games more)
2. Lewandoski - 16 goals in 16 games (played 5 games more)
3. Kane - 15 goals in 19 games (played 8 games more)
4. Ronaldo - 14 goals in 11 games
5. Lukaku - 13 goals in 15 games (played 4 games more)
6. Salah - 13 goals in 18 games (played 7 games more)
7. Son - 13 goals in 19 games (played 8 games more)
8. Vardy - 12 goals in 13 games (played 2 games more)
9. Mbappe - 12 goals in 14 games (played 3 games more)
10. Ibrahimnov - 11 goals in 10 games (played 1 games less)
11. Calvert-Lewin - 11 goals in 11 games
12. Bruno - 11 goals in 18 games (played 7 games more)
13. Neymar - 9 goals in 12 games (played 1 games more)
14. Messi - 8 goals in 15 games (played 4 games more)

The only realistic choice left based on above is Lewandoski and Haaland. But Lewandoski avg around 47 games per season, so it’s not guarantee he could reach this mark again this season (50+ goals). While Haaland is currently out injured this month, so he may not get this number too.

The words "Father Time" mean nothing to him.

They say father time is undefeated but Ronaldo may very well be the only one who can beat it (Until he decides he's done).

It's insane that Bruno is even on there. Everyone else is a forward. We'd be so screwed without him.

That is true but it is Serie A, 39 year old Zlatan, Lukaku Quagriarella have also been scoring goals for fun, Quag even scored in 11 consecutive games which was only previously achieved by Batistuta.

Ronaldo is doing extremely well but don’t kid your self in thinking he would do just as good in the PL. Yes he would be good for us to have, better than Martial anyway. But all of the United rejects have been lapping it up in Serie A, it is an inferior league unfortunately.

We need to move on from Ron and try everything in our power to get Haaland.

I think you are overrating the PL abit too much.

Bruno scored a lot of goals here but he didn’t quite manage to do it in Serie A during his 4 years venture there.

Salah score insane amount of goals in PL, but he didn’t score as much in Serie A.

Vardy scored a lot in PL too but he was never among the elite striker in the world.

Lukaku is doing great there but don’t forget he used to among the top 3 goalscorer in PL during his time in PL anyway. (Out of all current players, only Augero and Kane score more goals than him in PL. He is officially the top 3 goalscorer in PL)

Don’t forget a 35-36 year old Zlatan was the top goalscorer here at our club too, scoring 27 goals in a season.

Yeh I think PL is better league for sure, but it’s not always harder to score goals here.

Serie A is getting better every season, 6 teams made it out of the groupstage in Europe. If Lukaku doesn’t block that last minute winner all 7 Italian teams would have made it through which would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

You’re right that it wouldn’t make any sense for United to get Ronaldo though, signing a 36 year old is very risky business no matter who they are

To me the most impressive on this latest numbers is that he has 79 goals and 19 assists in 100 games for this offensively inept Juventus.
