    -------------------------------De Gea------------------------------
    Darmian---------------Jones----------Bailly------------------Rojo
    ---------------------------------Carrick----------------------------
    Mata-----------------Herrera----------Pogba------Lingard/Young
    --------------------------------Zlatan-------------------------------

    Something like that.

Doubt he sees Rojo as a LB anymore. Blind should play there imo and Jones given a rest.

Seems like Martial didn't travel. Hopefully Lingard, Rooney, Mata and Zlatan is the front four. Sick of Rashford.

I have a feeling Mourinho will try to squeeze all of Jones, Rojo and Bailly in somehow.

With 12 players and 2 Carrick's, we really should be winning by more than a 3-1 margin.

Young hasn't started for how long in the PL? I don't think he will start.

Quite excited for this one, oddly. Just want it to kick off already. But this means we'll probably lose.

Think Jose might be tempted to toss Lingard in as a LW to help out Darmian \ Blind against Zaha.

Really hope it isn't Rashford on the left since word is Martial hasn't travelled. Rashford could be brought on as #9 with some time left so we can give old man Zlatan a rest for the weekend.

I hope Zlatan is given a break and Rooney starts instead. News that Martial may not play this game is disheartening. He needs a run of games.

    Carrick
    Pogba - Herrera
    Mata -- Rooney -- Lingard

Would be very surprised if Darmian started after the shellacking he got on Sunday.

Hopefully Shaw is back fit, but if not him then Blind should start.

From what I understand Shaw is pretty low in the pecking order.

    Darmian
    Blind
    Shaw

    ...seems to be the order.

Personally, I'd like Blind to play in Carrick's position (if Carrick needs rest).

Win this and we'll be 3 pts closer to the 2nd place, at 7 pts. Might give some ideas...

Whoever starts at LB, they're going to need serious cover for Zaha who beats players for fun. Second most completed take-ons this season after Hazard iirc. So personally I'd go with Young on the LW plus possibly Blind at LB for his intelligence. Young and Blind down that side is a pretty good combo imo to not only take care of Zaha, but they're also pretty good crossers (compliment each other well too with Young being right-footed and Blind being left-footed), so we should be good with both the offence and defence covered.

I don't think we can afford to, really. Palace seem really weak defensively, but would you be content with that front 3 having enough in them to kill off a game?

    Why Rooney over Rashford too?

No, I wouldn't be content with the front 3, but like someone mentioned above, Lingard may be involved to help nullify the threat Zaha possesses. Zlatan needs a break and I think this game is as good a game as any to give him that. I know Mourinho doesn't tend to rotate his teams too much, but here's hoping he does against a poor and out of form Palace side.

If not for the team I suggested, then another possible line-up is having Rashford playing at CF and Rooney playing the No 10 role.

Rooney over Rashford largely cause Rashford has looked poor every time he has played. Rooney has been the bigger threat.

It'll be a tough game, no doubt. We struggled there last season (a complete bore of a 0-0 draw) and the season before (2-1 win through Fellaini late winner but we were dominated). Will be happy with a 1-goal win, normally a draw would not be the worst result in the world but since we are far from the top already, we cannot drop points.

I have a feeling Fellaini will be in the starting XI today, Crystal Palace are quite good on set pieces.

I suspect the same as well but I left him out of my prediction. I went with Herrera/Pogba holding, Mata as #10, Rashford and Lingard on the wings, and Zlatan.
We may have Rooney as #10 and Mata on the wing. Who knows, I started the prediction season well but have dropped way off over past two months. Jose is harder to predict than LVG.

Tough match. Watched liverpool play them a while back and thought pool had serious good luck.

Anyone else think we will drop points tonight? Hope I'm wrong obviously but just got a horrible feeling about this game considering the players we have missing.

Those were exactly the points I pondered when doing my lineup prediction, although I put Rooney in for Lingard as the only difference to your picks. I do wonder if JM will be tempted to play Rojo at LB to accommodate Bailly, I hope not, as Rojo isn't good there and has played very well with Jones at CB recently. Only other possibility would be Jones at RB, Bailly and Rojo in the middle and Darmian at LB, but I can't see that.

Why npt Bailly at RB? He would be better than Jones at RB and he played successfully in this position last year.

This will not be an easy game and Zaha will be looking to prove a point and he's been in good form recently. Palace at home won't be easy - if we win, it'll be by a goal, no more.
