Poland's best half by far this tournament. France have been nervy but they have a cheat code in Mbappe any time they want to go up a gear and create a decent chance.

That is just suicidal defending from Kiwior, WTF was he doing.

Shame about the goal as we have actually been the better side so far. I expected us to lose the game handsomely but just wanted us to give a good account of ourselves, as opposed to playing shit on stick brand of football we served in the groups. We have very much delivered so far.
It is good to finally see this team playing at the level you would expect rather than what we saw in the group stages. Really don’t care about losing this one if we can carry on the second half with the same intensity as the first half.

Not remotely surprised by how this game has gone. Australia had some good moments against France before going to pot. Mbappe pulled France out of it against Denmark too. Tunisia you can write off. However, France has not played a flawless game throughout this tournament. The French just look like they have enough firepower to score against anyone they play and, with Mbappe as an out ball, they're never completely out of it. They just need that one chance.

The real surprise is how much more ambition Poland has shown today compared to in the group stages. No doubt the Poles will try their best to come back into this and they may even get a goal. However, eventually the Poles will make another error and Mbappe or Dembele will get in behind. France is just that kinda team where, as long as they're not completely out of it and as long as its tight, they will always have a chance.

Poland doing quite well and should've scored. Not a great match though and no real atmosphere. Doesn't seem to be many French, Poles or Dutch there so far.

I find it hilarious how 90% of teams in the world apparently want to play from the back like Spain, but don't pick the correct players to do it right, and its a collection of bloopers every game.

Totally surprised with the way we're playing. First 15 minutes of the second half are of big importance.

England will beat France if they play. France don't have the ball ball possession game that England struggle with, and they have better options to defend the wide threats, while Giroud is a known quantity.

My prob with France defensive issues is that freedom they give to their opponent between 30 and 40 meters away from their box. This lack of high pressure is scary.

France gonna win this

If they don't, it would be the first time ever they get eliminated in a WC knockout game by a non-big team.

Italy and Netherlands are the other two historic nations that has this record in favor.

Brazil first time was in 2018 when they lost to Belgium.

Love how some people can be full of convidence about games that are 60/40 in the most optimistic prediction.

A weird record though since in 2018 Belgium and Croatia were much better than "big teams" Italy or Netherlands.

Everyone should sit on the fence and never offer an opinion.
Aren't you allowed to have a balanced opinion like "England has the tools to defeat France" or something like that instead of going full "england WILL beat France". You know, nuance, analysis, showing that your thought process isn't totally binary etc.?

I have a feeling you wouldn't have said anything if they said France will beat England...

Stylistically I think it is a good match for England, and that comes from a non fan of England, who hopes Senegal beat them.

Poland didn’t look half bad this 45 min. Zielinski should’ve scored there but still can’t blame him too much. Better football than in all group stages. Dreaming of impossible, let’s fecking go

That is why you have Giroud in your team. A player that is so underrated and so important to your team.

But people like to focus on fast player who is pretty much what Michel Owen was. Just with more muscels.

Did BBC really need to spend the entire half time break taking to and about Matty Cash?
