Kane might not have been offside but it was given after allowing the goalscoring chance to play out, as linesman are instructed to do. Had the goal been scored, the flag would have gone up and VAR would have come into use.

The passing out from the back is so crucial to how England attack. They are inviting Croatia forward and then taking out their whole midfield with one long pass. It's very clever. Modric and Rakitic are being starved of the ball.
