Offside or not …Mbappe goal was so good, it should have stood
g = window.googletag || {}; googletag.cmd = googletag.cmd || []; window.googletag = googletag; googletag.cmd.push(function() { var interstitialSlot = googletag.defineOutOfPageSlot('/17085479/redcafe_gam_interstitial', googletag.enums.OutOfPageFormat.INTERSTITIAL); if (interstitialSlot) { interstitialSlot.addService(googletag.pubads()); } });
Arguably but not likely from a rules perspective. His knee is arguably more dangerous that his studs, though
You'd rather he raise the flag, the goal doesn't stand and then replays show he was onside? They let us celebrate a great goal and then raise the flag...
He deserves the time to find his place. Giroud is a great second option.Tell you what, Benzema is a problem for France. He comes short too much. More of a second striker who get into Griezman's feet. Giroud would work better.
Needlessly losing possession in his own half?Seeing a bit more of the United Pogba in this half
No, you're just seeing Pogba.Seeing a bit more of the United Pogba in this half
You're right, I suppose. Just think these kind of challenges are way more dangerous and can do more devastating damage than studs showing sliding tackles.Arguably but not likely from a rules perspective.
In case they got it wrong so they don't stop a legitimate scoring chance.Maybe i`m stupid but can anyone explain why the linesmen must wait until the player scores to tell it was offside?
The new rule is they wait until the end of the attack/goal to indicate if it was off side or notThe ref is narcoleptic isn't he?
Because if he was wrong then they'd miss out on scoringMaybe i`m stupid but can anyone explain why the linesmen must wait until the player scores to tell it was offside?
They don't have to but the alternative is to blow the whistle, the goal never stands and then replays show that he wasn't actually offside. Isn't this much better, considering we have VAR now?Maybe i`m stupid but can anyone explain why the linesmen must wait until the player scores to tell it was offside?
They're told to keep their flag down if its close.Maybe i`m stupid but can anyone explain why the linesmen must wait until the player scores to tell it was offside?
In case he gets it wrong. Play continues and it gets checked by VAR.Maybe i`m stupid but can anyone explain why the linesmen must wait until the player scores to tell it was offside?
No offside was close enough to need VAR and the one that needed it, they didn't use it and were wrong (Mbappe).I hope the English FA are learning from the use of VAR in this tournament so far. Seems to take only seconds, with no tortuous line drawing.
Werner it isGermany missing an actual striker. They need to bring Volland or Werner on and Sane as well.
I can stay onsideIt's you.
Potentially but challenging for aerial balls has an fairly high level of inherent danger. Any one of of heads, feet, legs or arms can smash you up good in the air with no intent at all. You're right, I suppose. Just think these kind of challenges are way more dangerous and can do more devastating damage than studs showing sliding tackles.
that's the new rule to avoid false positive offiside calls, they can always review on VARMaybe i`m stupid but can anyone explain why the linesmen must wait until the player scores to tell it was offside?
He works harder defensively imoIts a myth.
How many off sides will he be able to get in the final 20 minutes?Werner's coming on to give us a laugh
American footballers didn’t worry all that much about those head bangs either, until someone else did the thinking for them. The athletes don’t tend to have the best recognition of what’s the right amount and kind of pain to tolerate in the moment. Too busy being real men. Both players are going for the ball. If Gosens had his leg extended with his studs up it's a different story. Not every bit of physical play is a red card. We'll note that the players on the pitch didn't think it was a red.
What?No offside was close enough to need VAR and the one that needed it, they didn't use it and were wrong (Mbappe).
Ronaldo's second goal today would've been a three minute VAR check in England though. No offside was close enough to need VAR and the one that needed it, they didn't use it and were wrong (Mbappe).
