No need to downplay Asia's success. Iran losing 2-6 doesn't take away from the staggering progress of Asia's performance in this World Cup. Iran was pretty much the better team in this match even before the red card. Japan beat Germany, Saudi Arabia beat Argentina, two big upsets no one foresee. South Korea held their own against Uruguay who is the 3rd best South American team.
