The real question: what state will the Japanese locker room be in later?

feck this shit. I just want a full mutiny to take place in that Japanese dressing room and that cnut Moriyasu gets the angry beating he should have had a long time ago.

Japan absolutely embarrassed themselves here. Against a team that got destroyed 7-0 by Spain.

Does head to head or goal difference come first? Never know in these things anymore. If it's goal difference Germany could get through with 3 points.
Goal difference first. Germany are still well in this. A draw tonight would be an amazing result for them but even a defeat isn’t the end of the world.

Bottle job from Japan. Beat a shite Costa Rica team and they would be certain to progress if Germany failed to beat Spain tonight.
Costa Rica isn't as bad as Spain made them look.
Also Japan don't have the quality in the midfield to dominate Costa Rica the way Spain did.

Costa Rica giving CONCACAF their first win of the tournament. Not a great display though. Germany is going to run them over big time

They will just clean the dressing room and obediently go to the bus

Tell that to that fecktard named Hajime Moriyasu. He should have been sacked as soon as qualification was confirmed.
Could have won against Costa Rica, which would almost certainly get them through. Instead, he goes so conservative and slow against them? What, is he afraid of Costa Rica's mighty attack? Terrible. Japan need a new manager that can utilize their strengths.

The Japanese manager needs to get on the phone to Kyogo and demand he boards the next flight from Glasgow to Doha.

So technically Germany can afford to lost to Spain and still qualify with just 3 points as long as they beat costa rica by a certain amount of goals depending on how how man Spain beat Germany and Japan by?

What's with all the Japan hate in here all of a sudden? Yeah this was disappointing from them but they don't deserve this backlash.

Japan are not as shit as people are saying, just clearly can't breakdown a packed defence and struggle with expectation. It happens, we've seen plenty of that as United fans, it's not always straight forward to cut through stubborn teams without an early goal. You can't really think a country like Japan will be rounded in every area. Disappointing to lose to Costa Rica though.

What happens if we beat Germany and then Germany beats Costa Rica? Who would come second? Does it go by goal difference or head-to-head?

And Santos. World cup is full of shite managers. No one decent wants to manage national teams
It's incredible really. I've got Enrique, Flick, and the bloke from Denmark down as decent managers. I'm struggling to name another one after that

Only if there's also room for Rob Page, Fernando Santos and Roberto Martinez.

Ah how did I forget Santos and Martinez. To have so many talents at your disposal yet still have very cowardly approach is just so infuriating.

I have huge respect for how Saudi played yesterday

Expect Spain-Germany to be a boring draw now and then Germany to swiftly destroy Costa Rica and go through in 2nd position behind Spain.

The only interesting thing about this World Cup were the shock defeats for Germany and Argentina.

Not been any really great games , or even many great goals or memorable moments otherwise.

And now it looks like Argentina and Germany should be qualifying anyway, those upsets don't really mean as much anymore.
