It's as if DDG has become this huge liability while Henderson is going to solve all of United's issues, which is just not the case at the moment.
Hendo is doing well, as is Sheffield. They quite possibly are the most defensively sound squad with only 23 goals conceded and only a +2 goal difference yet have amassed a lot of points.
Hendo needs to back up his first season in the Premier League with another one, and one where teams are completely prepared...no PL new boy excuse and caught them by surprise. He'll have expectations to sustain, if not improve upon.
Clean sheets are a by product of your entire defensive unit and shape, never just your keeper. With that said, DDG has made more errors than he used to, but he's still a top keeper.
Overall, goalkeeping and defending haven't been as bad as people want to make it out. Going forward and scoring goals against compact teams is more of an issue.
United and Henderson have a plan in place for his future at United. He's signed through 2022 with an option for 2023.
DDG has a contract until at least June 2023. Their contract will technically overlap.
