Do we have a difficult decision to make soon with him and DDG?
Well at least it means we have more control over De Gea. We can at least sell him in a season if he doesn’t perform.A contract for De Gea will mean Henderson will leave. He will not want to be a substitute after being a first-team goalkeeper. It is inevitable: it is either Henderson or De Gea.
Henderson has signed a contract. He'll be settled on loan to Sheffield unless he impresses enough to actually compete with De Gea. I'm sure he'll back himself to displace him if he gets a good chance to do so. That is probably a couple of years down the road though.A contract for De Gea will mean Henderson will leave. We can always loan him to Sheffield every year (or another team if they get relegated) like what Chelsea did with Courtois.Henderson has signed a contract. Yeah, last year and this one too. IMO he has the same strengths and weaknesses like DDG. Obviously would take some time to reach(if he ever) DDG level at his peak, but there is potential to become an excellent shot stopper. He's not the best when it comes of distribution of the ball and won't trust him to take the ball out of the back.Has anyone actually watched him over 90 mins for a few games? I read about his coach giving him a talking to due to poor distribution.
I’ve only watched him with England but his distribution in those games has been better than what we see from DDG.Yeah, last year and this one too. What about dealing with crosses?Yeah, last year and this one too. IMO he has the same strengths and weaknesses like DDG. I really don't get all the fuss around him, he just seems really over confident and looks like he's easily distracted (A bit like Joe Hart dare I say) If I'm proven wrong in a few years time I'll be happy to get a few laughs on here.
Think he has stalled quite a bit in that area. That was one of his positives when he was with us in the academy from memory, but last year his numbers were pretty average in the Championship. Doesn't really strike me as that being one of his better qualities and he's long way to go to reach one of the better keepers in that area in PL.I’ve only watched him with England but his distribution in those games has been better than what we see from DDG.
For me it's a weak point. Both that and commanding his area. Certainly was the same last year, despite having most clean sheets and generally being the best keeper in the Championship. What about dealing with crosses?
I can see him going on loan again next season. 2 years time he should be challenging DDG for the number 1 position.A contract for De Gea will mean Henderson will leave. He will not want to be a substitute after being a first-team goalkeeper. It is inevitable: it is either Henderson or De Gea.
I've mostly watched him for England and from the little i've seen he is far from ready to be the nr 1 keeper for a big club. 3, 4 years down the line that might change though.Do we have a difficult decision to make soon with him and DDG?
https://www.sheffieldunited.news/news/dean-henderson-makes-manchester-united-admission/“I always wanted to get out there and prove myself, rather than sit in my comfort zone. I would like to see more goalkeepers go out into the lower leagues because it would be a big test for them. I’ve proven I can play in every division,” Henderson added.
“There are many players who are just happy to sit there and say they are Manchester United players, but realistically you aren’t for me until you are in the first team.”
Bayern are interested. Will be a great replacement for Neuer. It will be a shame he won't be our No. 1 but Fair play to the lad if he can go on and become Bayern's No. 1 .
Why is it a given he’ll join them?Bayern are interested. Will be a great replacement for Neuer. It will be a shame he won't be our No. 1 but Fair play to the lad if he can go on and become Bayern's No. 1 .
Yep. Makes no sense. De Gea is such a limited goalkeeper. Fantastic shot-stopper (maybe even the best), but a liability in every other area.can’t understand the de Gea mega deal, means we can’t sign him in the bench or sell
Him so he’ll have to be first choice til the end of his contract no matter how well Henderson progresses
You say that, but the post literally just before yours is a quote from the man himself talking about what it means to actually make it at United. Doesn’t exactly sound like he’s incorporating bratwurst into his diet just yet.Bayern are interested. Will be a great replacement for Neuer. Id rather Henderson was our keeper next seasonHim going on loan for one more season might be perfect, get another year of experience. I think we will need to replace DDG in 2 years and having a PL ready keeper slot in would be brilliant.
I would take him as our keeper next season if we can sell DDG, with his wages I doubt we will get any suitors.Id rather Henderson was our keeper next season
Juve or PSG we can only hope, new tax rules in Italy, maybe Inter could do us a favour but I doubt he would go thereI would take him as our keeper next season if we can sell DDG, with his wages I doubt we will get any suitors.
That's the reason I would say another year loan.
I don't think we can have DDG as 2nd choice
Dave’s got a deal until 2023, plus the option of 1 more year. Unless the club are prepared to drop him and his massive wage, Henderson will obviously get offers from better clubs than Sheffield United and may well be tempted to move on. Our club has been overly sentimental with players and hung onto them for too long. Let’s hope this doesn’t repeat itself in this case.Him going on loan for one more season might be perfect, get another year of experience. Next year is 2021? Perfect time to sell him.Dave’s got a deal until 2023, plus the option of 1 more year. We can only hope, but rumours have it that Juve are in for Pogba, maybe they can take them both for £200m.Juve or PSG we can only hope, new tax rules in Italy, maybe Inter could do us a favour but I doubt he would go there
Dean signed a new contract last year, I hope that the club realise that he is the long term keeper for United rather than letting him go and then spending another £60m in 4 years time.Dave’s got a deal until 2023, plus the option of 1 more year. .We should be looking to sell DDG in the next window.
And whom would you suggest would we sell him to? Highest paid keeper in the world, but not even the best performing in his own league?Next year is 2021? Perfect time to sell him.
Dont want to scare you but 2023 isnt far away and thats if he goes on a free
