How come they are so good? Are all of them playing in the Top leagues or something (mostly the PL and Bundesliga?) ?
Well yes, most of the team ply their trade in top 5 leagues, but more importantly they have one of the most tactically astute managers they've had in a long time, and they're producing talented players at a rather impressive rate.

Clubs all over Europe are poaching young Danish players out of the Danish academies. Hojbjerg and Christensen played together in the same Brondby academy until they were poached snd further developed by Bayern and Chelsea in their teens, for example.

Thought Denmark just ran out of gas last night.

From about the 70th minute on they were playing for penalties.

Still, a great tournament for them and they're a really good team. Can be proud of themselves.

Damsgaard was asked in a Q&A if he has a dream club.

He replies that he is a big Manchester United fan. But he likes the Spanish league better. Therefore, the dream club must be Real Madrid.

Since he is a big Manchester United fan, he should perhaps be a player worth considering for United. The question is whether he is good enough in the long run? One thing is to have a good tournament, another thing is the long run. In addition, we have many players in the offensive positions.

He’s a winger that scored just 13 in 84 in Denmark and just 2 in 35 in Serie A.

How is that a CV for United? Cause he had a good game vs. England

I mean, we’ve just brought in a winger of the same age that has 50 goals in a similar amount of games, but all of them in a top league. That’s a United CV.

Yeah, would have to see a lot more from him before we can consider him a United player. He is definitely intelligent and skillful, but also still looks quite lightweight - may not be the best PL fit just yet.

Defintely one to look out for though.

On the surface they look bang average, but if you delve a little deeper...
- Half of his Serie A apps last season were off the bench
- He did score 11 goals in 35 apps in his last season in Denmark

So his lack of goals prior to that was as a 17/18 year old, and then it seems as his breakthrough season at 19 led to the Sampdoria move. So I wouldn't write him off based on an amalgamation of his Danish stats and his first season Serie A stats, and it might also be that he's more suited to the frenetic pace of the Premier League than Serie A. I certainly hope we don't live to regret him signing for Liverpool or another rival!

He should be an automatic starter in Sampdoria before entertaining any ideas of moving to a bigger team.

Yeah, true. He kind of just needs to be left to his own devices, allow him to grow into the player he can become. We've gotten a glimpse of what he can do, but people need to keep in mind that he was only ever meant to be a squad player this tournament. He was thrust into the deep end because of an unfortunate incident, and thankfully he showed he could handle that pressure. There's no need for him to rush his career now. Let's see what level he's at when he's 22-23.
