CE i'm being honest and trying not to be biased, bear in mind David Platt who is in a far better position to judge than all of us prefers Kirkland to Robinson (although both are classy keepers)

From what I saw of Robinson last season, he's not only the best young English goalkeeper, but the best English goalie full stop.

Although I guess Liverpool have 2 or 3 that's better.... ;)

i think they could both be the england no.1, but they have to prove that when they start for the first team on a regular basis and not for the reserves .. id probably would be better for kirkland´s career if he had stayed at coventry for 1,2 more years to get more experience in first team football

Everyones entitled to thier opinions, Kirkland was great last season as well, unfortunately he was playing behind Coventrys back four, i was at the match last season when we beat them 4 - 1, it should have been about 10 - 1, he made some absolutely great saves

Off course you're unbiased....

In your opinion, is Butt the 3rd best English centre midfielder?

You've got a good point but on the other hand something Kirkland said in an interview counters that, he said he's learning far more at Liverpool as his facing the likes of Owen and Fowler in training everyday,

How long do you reckon he will be happy sitting on the bench for you lot?

Aren't you happy with Jerzy Dudek Red Tide? We were supposed to buy him, but went with Wright instead, whom I hope will develop into a solid keeper.

Sorry Jens this is the last time i'll talk about Kirkland ;) , his an avid Liverpool fan and his alaredy said more than once that he expects to be on the bench and knew this when he joined as he knew Liverpool were buying Dudek and he would be our No.1, he knew the score when he came so i expect he'll sit on the bench untill his proven his good enough to be No.1. Bear in mind Houllier has been chasing Kirkland for ages and was delighted when he signed him because he said he had secured Liverpools keeper for years to come.

So, after that tutorial, how long do you reckon he will be happy sitting on the bench?

Yes i'm delighted at Dudek a snip at £4.8m his been great for us (how much did Feyenord offer him to you for), i just see a great keeper in Kirkland and believe when his time comes he'll be our No.1 for years to come, even Dudeks said that Kirkland will be Liverpools future No.1

Red Tide should start a career in politics .. they never answer any questions but somehow manage to waffle for 5 minutes.

;)

Can you remember an Arsenal cross?

Jens, have you got Premiere World Channels and is that why you are watching the Arsenal Vs Depor game or is it because Juventus Vs Levekusen is called off due to fog.

I heard that Premiere World shows every games LIVE and you can change the commentary to english, is that correct?

I asked the Koptalk crew the other day if they thought they would beat Barca (before the game this was), and I think it went to 30 posts before someone managed to come up with a simple yes or no answer....

Arsenal almost had a shot on goal before.... ;)

So, if in two years time Dudek is still number 1, Kirkland would be happy to continue sitting on the bench?

You're a bit naive here I think.... ;)

Thats a simple yes or no question, i don't know how long he'll be happy for sitting on the bench, as i don't know him personally, if he continues the way his going he may not have to wait too long i reckon he could No.1 in a couple of years

I reckon he will be looking for a move if he ain't in contetion in 12-18 months. Especially as there is Euro 2004 coming up, and there's a England goalie spot up for grabs....

Looks like black November again for Arsenal. We must punish United ruthlessly for this.

But Dudek is relative young for a goalie as well, and it's by playing first team football you learn best....

I'm not sure what to think. Could be a lot of goals again (both ways). Let's face it, neither of us is exactly burning up the League right now.....still early though.

Why not - it certainly did make no sense buying two goalkeepers at this stage? Aas Jens said, it would probably have been better for Kirkland to have stayed at Coventry for another season or two, instead of sitting on the bench at Liverpool. Liverpool could have struck a deal with Coventry about buying him two years time. Then just bought Dudek, and left Blunderweld as the second choice......

Do you seriouly belive a club like Liverpool could sign two keepers by mistake  Coventry offered Kirkland to us after they heared we were after Dudek we took thier offer i heared this from a reliable source. As for signing them on the same day, that day was the champions league deadline, so the club wanted to ensure they signed in time to be eligibal for the competition. As for Westerveld he was always leaving the club broke up contract negtotiations with him in the summer before we bought either keeper.
