oooh but it was really good football in the 2nd half, the passing was sublime, so sublime i used the word 'sublime' not once but twice!!

THey did pass and move the ball better than us but in terms of clear cut chances created we both produced four. So no need to panic.

I thought that we played some very incisive football up until they scored the second, then after that we never saw the ball again.
For their 3rd they played keep ball in their own for 3 fecking whole minutes and dragged us onto them and then popped one in to Overmars who stuck it away

The score was just. Barcelona totally destroyed Liverpool and destroyed them in every department.

I'm very disappointed here lads. Obviously you've all seen the whole game instead of watching your own team.

Well surely you wouldn't be so stupid to make all these claims by just watching a few minutes of highlights would you?

swano. we get a lot of homeless people in SF cause of the weather, the generosity of people and the fact that giuliani kicked 'em all out of nyc.

nice try though.

I watched the game str8 after the United game with my scouse cousin.
Belive me, that scoreline depicted the game.
I told my cousin 2 weeks ago, the 2nd phase is a different story to the 1st, any team can make it thru the 1st phase, but then the big boys start to fire in the 2nd, and I said Liverpool werent one of the bog boys.
How right I was. And I could see he knew it in his reactions.

Feck I loved it.

at least you lot finally acknowledge that 3-1 does constitute a hammering and means that you were totally outplayed. ;)

I thought we played quite well last night up until Kluiverts goal which really took the wind out of us. We could have been 3 up by that stage.

However, as the game wore on we began to look good again until Barca finished us off with the second which came very much against the run of play. after that it was just academic...their third reflected their dominance even if Overmars was offside.

I think we will learn from it anyway and we still have a chance of going through. Even if we don't we've done well enough to get to the second phase anyway.

I wouldn't like to comment on the united game as I only saw highlights... ;)

Just think how good you would look if you managed to get as far as the semis or the final

It IS a good thing to get through to the second round, and credit are due to all teams in the second round cause they are all class acts. However, the game yesterday showed what a difference it is between LFC and a truly top European team. Barca controlled the game from the very first minute, and Michael Owen was totally eliminated. His goal was well taken, and it illustrates well how dangerous it is to drop the ball against LFC when building up an attack. Owen is a lethal striker in such a situation, and when De Boer failed to step up alongside Andersson to make Owen offside little Mikey punished them right away. But besides that LFC had nothing, and in the second round all defences have brickwall type of defenders like Andersson to stop the scousers from scoring. Welcome back to top Eurpean football! Things have changed since -82 :)

History was never my thing at school, but my grandad told me that there once was this great captain for LFC by the name Hansen who won loads and loads of trophys. These days the captains aren't even good enough to play (Redknapp & Fowler) and if they want to see any trophys they must come home to Phil Thompson's house to visit(not very likely that Robbie gets invited home to Thompson is it?)
