New release on Netflix, causing a lot of drama as it’s content is pretty dark an taboo.

Without ruining the story it starts with animal mutilation and follows a group of internet investigators along with several police departments as it escalates.

Just to warn people, it is a tough watch.

Saw the spotlight trailer for this and couldn’t decide if it was serious or a weird piss-take mocumentary type thing.

Watched it. Thought the ending was...

Condescending bullshit.

Woman trying to point finger at others to absolve some of the blame on herself. I watched a documentary about some people trying to find someone who posted himself killing cats online, years after it happened and when he was in jail.

I didnt watch his videos, I didnt join a group trying to find him and potentially egging him on and giving him the attention to be chased and "make his movie" or whatever. So to me thats a stupid ending and why I gave the show a thumbs down.

It was interesting enough otherwise.

I'm not sure the ending was her actual take on it, seemed a bit staged and like the producers didn't know how to end it. It is interesting to think that that group must've felt some kind of responsibility for the murder due to the attention Magnotta clearly craved.

I thought it was a compelling watch, haven't been gripped like that to a Netflix crime documentary since Evil Genius or Wild Wild Country.

I thought it was disjointed, and the inclusion of pets exacerbated that unwanted tension.

“The Confession Killer” was better.

The best thing I've watched recently on Netflix was When They See Us, the last episode is brilliant acting and portrays the story brilliantly.

I was furious watching this, but couldn't stop. Don't mess with internet detectives.

Even though he basically outed himself

You don't see any actual cruelty. It's implied.
Yeah this is important. They show a slight amount of the videos, where you literally cant see anything because its just the top 5% of the screen. So you absolutely dont see any of the cruelty, it is instead described

Enjoyed it. Was a bit disappointed when it mentioned the name at first as i knew how it ended. Never knew those videos were him though.

I enjoyed the Ted Bundy series and this... Anyone recommend any similar?

Did it ever say who the other person was in one of the videos? It showed a hand which Magnotta said was 'Manny' but I don’t think it was ever clarified who it actually was?

How delusional was Magnotta's mum? All this bullshit about how her angel couldn't have done in because he's not like that. Not an ounce of emotion in her. Then shows the Basic Instinct keychain

He was a sadistic cnut that lived out his sick fantasy.

It didn't go into it but the consensus seems to be it was the python owner, who was seemingly happy to see his pet kill a kitten.

The other thing that went unsolved was the casino video.

Not watched it but I'm assuming it's about the 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick killer?

I remember watching the complete video some years ago. I wasn't brave enough to see any cat stuff, but the human stuff I saw. It was this video that totally put me off the True Faith song by New Order, since the cnut used it. But those were more macabre times when I could sit through stuff like that during all that Faces of Death era content.

Yep, it references the music he used in the videos in the show. Inspired by a film

The description reminds me of the "Croydon cat killer" which turned out to just be cats who had been killed by foxes.

Good pt - the casino video was arguably the creepiest thing and they never went back to it.

just finished it, had to binge, I wouldn't say it's enjoying due the subject matter , but it was addictive.I love that bald internet investigator trying to pronounce the place where Magnotta had a pic of on his balcony. The place is called Etobicoke, correct pronunciation is E-TOB-I-KO. He butchered it as I did when I first went there, but surely these docs have screen proofers who actually check for this shit.

Couldn't stand Deonna/Baudi Moovin. So annoying.

Anytime she wasn't on screen or talking it was a good watch.
Agreed with that. Feel like I met a hundred people like that in my life and that's not a compliment. The dude was a bit annoying too.. Forgot what his name was (the one in San Fran) - unlike Baudi he always seemed to go out of his way to say how he found something or how awesome he was in some way rather than recognizing the group he was a part of.

I think the Canadian investigator needs to find a new job. I can understand that she was upset viewing the video but to actually have to stop when discussing it and considering herself a witness is a bit bizarre. I thought the investigators were allo over the place. The only fella who comes out of this documentary well is the German chap who identifies Luca and gets the police very discreetly.

Found the killers mum so damn annoying when she constantly tried to defend his actions and thought he was treated harshly.

The guy was a serial killer, what did she expect? No doubt she will still put all the blame on Manny.

She seemed just as bad as him, annoyed me as well. It was great to watch though.

It was interesting but the two people from the Facebook group were off their rocker. Especially the woman, she was just plain ridiculous. They did not actually accomplish anything here, pretended like their investigation led do something when they only knew his name because he told them that.

John Green or something. Likewise he didn’t actually accomplish anything at all.

Oh my fecking god making a murderer has nothing on this.
Making a Murderer is a ridiculous show that should have never been made or released. This one pretty clearly vilifies the killer, MaM glorified a murderer and made him into a cult hero. It’s a piece of disgusting ‘documentary’.

To be fair I wouldn’t be surprised if she had made that video herself. I doubt Magnotta would have made all the effort to go there and make it, she wouldn’t have been that easy to find in the first place. That woman loved and seeked attention as much as he did.

I find that odd. I don't want to ever see either. I think it would leave my mind scarred.
