If we win the group we don't get beyond the next round.Naw you’d want to start a tournament well a draw wouldn’t be a bad result to get points on the board.

No idea. It's criminal he's not starting but to be replaced by a fecking right back instead of Chilwell is bordering insanity.I mean, what does Shaw have to do to get a game? Kill all the fullbacks? Best LB in the league, gets dropped for a RB.
Lukaku, world class?I'd love to know what Chilwell and Shaw said to each other after that team got announced.
Rashford and Shaw was one of the best left sides in Europe last season. The way they played off each other was exceptionalSouthgate has the weirdest starting lineups. I do not understand him. Rashford and Shaw are far better than the 2 Southgate have chosen instead.
Grealish and Rashford would be ahead of him to come on anyway. No Sancho on bench? What the fecking feck? This is already a shambles. Haha.
Agree. I actually think that England has good enough players to win this year. But Southgate makes so funny choises and his line-ups are just strange.Rashford and Shaw was one of the best left sides in Europe last season. The way they played off each other was exceptional
He’s great. Very defensive to have him and Rice but he reads the game really well and uses it intelligently. Clearly one of the best players in a team that performed beyond all expectations.Serious question, who the feck is Kalvin Phillips?
Shaw has had mentality issues throughout his career. Was very timid when he joined us and rumoured to be home sick, was absolutely overwhelmed by Mourinho’s management style. It’s not unlikely he’s outside of his comfort zone in the England set up too. And he finished the season in very poor form.I mean, what does Shaw have to do to get a game? Kill all the fullbacks? He's not fit.Isn’t Henderson a better option for CM than Phillips anyway?
I thought it was fitness that was going to hold England back with how much they played collectively the past season and key injuries, but should've known, it's always the manager being dumb.Agree. Ye do. Gareth won't pick him because he's 17, despite having proven himself on a far bigger stage than Phillips or even Rice have. The other question is, will it be a 4231 or 433? Hopefully, the latter, which to be fair to Gareth, he normally plays when Mount is in there. Just wish we had a proper number 8.
Not fit enough I imagine, but after that we have JWP who is similar and Gareth left him at home.Isn’t Henderson a better option for CM than Phillips anyway?
Yeah for sure. He must have decided on the back four pre tournament, so having White come in was strange. If you pick players for a back three, play a back three!
Shaw created the 2nd most chances in Europe behind only messiI’ll throw my hat in the ring and call that Chilwell is better than Shaw? Shaw has very little attacking output and Chilwell has a plan behind his crosses, Shaw just hits the ball without lookinh. Shaw also made several blunders in his last few games, so have absolutely no problem with him not starting. Severley overrated on this forum, this year’s Martial.
Bellingham is the better option. Takes guts to play him though instead of the defensive option.Isn’t Henderson a better option for CM than Phillips anyway?
I mean, by your definition we may as well send him home after being overlooked by a RB, if he’s so fragile mentally, this will do wonders for his confidence I’m sure. He’s great. Very defensive to have him and Rice but he reads the game really well and uses it intelligently. Clearly one of the best players in a team that performed beyond all expectations.

Without knowing how the players have trained, we can’t really say it’s an outrageous decision. Just an annoying one as a United fan, and a damaging one for Shaw. Hopefully he’ll use it as a source of motivation.
Has to be. Southgate isn't that dumb.Is Sancho injured?
Bellingham is more of an advanced 8 like the position Mount is playing.Ye do. Gareth won't pick him because he's 17, despite having proven himself on a far bigger stage than Phillips or even Rice have.
