He should be ahead of Maguire (and Lindelöf too) in the pecking order but ten Hag marginalised him for some reason. Really can't be worse than those two.
There's a few reasons he's behind everyone else.

One he can't stay fit.

Two when he is fit in or out of form he's a fecking reckless lunatic that no manager seems to trust.

Three and most importantly outside of 2-3 games a season where for some unknown reason he's capable of looking like a top defender, he's a bang average defender 95% of the time.

To be fair, Jose seemed to have trusted him but you couldn't have said it any better. Bravo

Why does Saudi not want to touch our players? Even at the firesale prices we’re offering them at like Bailly?

I'm still thinking about his Baillybaur run in preseason last year. We're still paying him, so we might as well live up to our banter club image.

Couldn't Marseille afford him full time? They signed Aubameyang in the summer so wages can't be an issue.

He'll make sure Evans gets plenty of minutes, going off mid game.

Is he even in Manchester training with the first team?

Prefer this guy over Maguire and Evans any day, throw him in there if need be. At least he's an athlete.

they want to buy good players that they can incentivize with lucrative contracts, not United players whose values have tanked to the ground and are already making 3,4,5x more than they really should.

Sergio Ramos was totally available on a free and we could not use his former Real Madrid teammates to convince him to come in? Now we have to rely on Bailly, Evans and Maguire. Shambles of a club.

Sergio Ramos is also finished, and would've likely required a huge wage packet

Any other line of work if you start being so bad at the job you can’t be used, they fire you. Why can’t players get fired? They break contracts all the time when it suits them. Just give him the boot, come up with a severance, and be done.

A stray long ball peters to Onana with a striker closing in to press him. Onana takes a touch, appears to launch a long ball only to do a cruyff turn and bring the ball back inwards. After sitting down the striker, Onana casually plays a pass to Bailly. The striker gets up and starts chasing at Bailly's direction. Bailly gets the ball out of his feet and gestures to Hojlund for a long channel ball. Instead Bailly does a cruyff turn and sits the striker down again. Bailly then casually passes to Onana. This happens for another further 20 times until the end of the whistle

Players break contracts all the time by leaving their clubs without cause? When?

If he tried a Cruyff turn he'd probably get confused and foul himself.

Players don’t move to new clubs while still having time remaining in their current contracts? A player wants a move, downs tools, agitates for a move, refuses to train — whatever — or simply insists on a move (like Amrabat). I don’t meant they simply walk away and take up gardening without consequences.

Bringing Evans back in 2023 is the kind of stuff you'd laugh at. Bailly would instantly be our 3rd best CB right now behind Varane & Martinez.

At least the Eric fan club are no longer claiming he's the best CB at the club, which was still being said even a year ago.
