Martial should be back for the final and Eriksen in 4/5 weeks.

What difference to the run in can the two make?

Feels like we’ve yet to really see a full strength squad this season. One comes back, another drops out.

When you look at getting these two back, along with the return of Sancho and the additions of Sabitzer and Weghorst, you have to say we do have an interesting variety of options across the pitch.

If Rashford is injured we need Martial back asap, he is in individual training at the moment so lets hope he makes it back in time

Martial will be like a new signing if he ever gets his fitness together. He probably could have done with a Sancho camp but you have to feel like he’s already on his last chance here this season? He’s obviously a good player but I don’t think he has that single minded drive to succeed here. Then again ETH has improved everyone. Martial has the talent to be one of the best forwards in the league

Wow I didn’t realise Martial could be available for the final. Having them two back would be such a huge boost.

We really have got some good strength in depth now. We’ve got a whole backup defence. We’ve got a good 5/6 central midfielders to choose from when fit. 4/5 good options for the wings. Hopefully with Martial back it would be a huge boost.

Eriksen is a big miss but we've proven we can play very well without him now, which is a big boost. I think having him back will make a big difference as he brings our forwards into the game better than anyone else, but I'm less worried now about how we'll cope without him.

I don't really count Martial. Not in a criticism way as on form he's a very good option, but I just expect him to get injured again by biting his tongue while eating a sandwich or tripping over a daffodil or something.

Martial will be fit for 1 week then be back on the operating table.

We really need to offload him in the summer and get someone who's not made of wet tissue.

There's honestly no point relying on Martial. Even if he is back for the final he is most likely going to get injured again at one point. As for Eriksen returning, suddenly our midfield doesn't look too bad. We've got Eriksen for games when we have lots of possession, Fred for a fight in midfield and Sabitzer for something in between.

Martial in place of Weghorst, if he stays fit for the season (big if at this rate) will be a very positive boost.

Eriksen looks more like an appearance towards the end of the season unfortunately.

I hope Eriksen can be back earlier than expected (late April was mentioned). Lots of games to come, at least 17 from March (most probably more than that).

Genuine question. Do we eliminate Barcelona if it was Eriksen instead of Fred in both legs?

Yeah me. It’s more like 8 weeks isn’t it. Though it would be end of March, early April but it’s end of April.

Hopefully get him back training mid April

I was surprised Sabitzer didnt get a sniff tonight but I guess ETH didnt want to change anything in midfield. I expect him to play a part on Sunday. With Eriksen back and rotating with Bruno, Sabitzer with Fred and Casemiro we will be in better shape...oh aye with McTominay for emergency backup.

Never really saw Eriksen as a huge loss personally. Fred does not weaken us in place of him. Of course, he’s better on the ball than Fred - but he’s not himself a WC CM and has significant weaknesses himself in that position.

Martial has been a huge loss all season really.

Martial, very little I suspect. On his day he's good for the occasion tap in but he hasn't been a scoring monster for quite some time.

Eriksen, a pretty big impact I would think. Fred has been immense of late, so perhaps Eriksen might struggle for minutes but I suspect when he does return he'll get his minutes and make the most of them.

Maybe he would have played Fred anyway? At this point, I've so much faith in Ten Hag that I'm certain he would have made the right calls regardless of who was available. I can't imagine a scenario where having Eriksen available would have hindered us in any way, especially with Ten Hag making the calls.

I feel like we've been coping well enough without Eriksen, with Fred hitting form and Sabitzer putting in some good performances. Having him back would definitely be a boost if only for options.

Having Martial back would be a massive boost, but I can't see him coming back and actually staying fit

Martial isn't even reliable on the rare occasions when he's fit. I wouldn't be banking on anything from him after weeks out.

Bruno is far better than McTominay
And Martial is far far better than Weghorst even if they Dont get people saying you cant compare different types of players. There's loads of metrics we can use like technical ability, speed, or the ability to score a goal for example. Bruno>McTominay and Martial>Weghorst every day of the week

I mean, there are lots of games in which Fred is just a much better option for us than Eriksen. He offers a completely different skillset. It's great that we have both, though, and it's fantastic that our strength in depth is gradually improving with a mixture of well thought out new signings and academy players.

Fred's a good option off the bench. If eriksens fit, he starts over Fred.

Hilarious this is even being debated. Fred's been terrible up until the 2nd half today and suddenly he's a better option than eriksen. Nonsense.

Yes of course Bruno and McTominay "different players", but there's nothing that McTominay does or can possibly ever do that comes anywhere close to what Bruno does on a regular basis."

Martial is out.
ETH is not that stupid to put THIS TEAM in chance of Martial mood.

Agree mate. So many game we will need them all. What a fun season.

Don't even think it's "drive" or whatever as he's had brilliant seasons here before. He's just genuinely crocked physically. Basically the Phil Jones of strikers

"Fred's been terrible" is the nonsense. Christ it's like you haven't watched any of this season. Fred playing alongside Casemiro has been consistently very good. He's just utter crap if he's asked to play a more positionally disciplined role.

Forget about Martial, he will break down again. First of all, he can't stay fit, and when he does he has the 3 game cycle of good match, ok match, shit match, then injured.

If by some miracle both of them are available by mid March till the end of the season, we might have a chance.

Wouldn’t bank on Martial anymore. A fit and in form version would absolutely be a big addition.

Eriksen will need some time to back up to speed too I imagine
