That’s a uefa competition though, and accepted as a continuation of the European Cup.Why? They did the same thing when the CL was introduced.

What's wrong with that? Did we not transfer our titles to the PL? Or our European Cup to the CL?Haha piss off. Start your tinpot glorified preseason tournament trophy count at zero. Don't steal someone else's history.
I'm sure they just mean the same as the old League One wins count the same as Premier League wins. This is an absolute joke. They can't take their European Cup/Champions League history and successes and rebrand it as Super League achievements.

Honest question: Gary has complained about Old Trafford before as well, it is nothing new. In fact a quick google search would have solved that for you.Suddenly Nev cares about the state of Old Trafford. Did it suddenly flood yesterday? Because he sure as hell didn't give a feck about it until then.
While I don't agree with this because there is no form of promotion relegation I really can't understand the you'll get bored of watch the same teams play every year when for the most part that is what happens in the EPL.If you aren't bored of EPL, you won't be bored of ESL either.

If that happened , which it wouldn't, they'd play it in the US or Asia. It's the TV rights that are going to pay for this and football fans all over the world would pay to watch the best/best supported/richest 20 clubs in Europe playing each other.Drive them away where? It would be a pan-European action by all governments, who have come out against it. Depriving clubs of the revenues from ESL really does seem to me the easiest way to attack it.
I honestly feel you're just trolling people at this point for a reaction. The Premier League and Champions League were basically rebrandings/format changes of existing competitions. Not a completely new start-up that is invite only and has no connection to the previous competition. What's wrong with that? Did we not transfer our titles to the PL? Or our European Cup to the CL?
They did, but that made sense as the European Cup was a UEFA creation. The Champions League was just a rebranded and reformatted European Cup from UEFA.Why? They did the same thing when the CL was introduced.
Can they even do that? Legally I mean. This is an absolute joke. They can't take their European Cup/Champions League history and successes and rebrand it as Super League achievements.

This is different since all clubs compete (theoretically) for the CL and had competed for the predecessorWhy? They did the same thing when the CL was introduced.
And that's the handful of clowns who were dancing at the thought of starting a competition with Madrid Barca etc at level pegging instead of having to chase their trophy count getting ended. This is an absolute joke. They can't take their European Cup/Champions League history and successes and rebrand it as Super League achievements.

Respect for having the patience. That dude must surely be a troll.I honestly feel you're just trolling people at this point for a reaction. I agree.Sevilla ruling themselves out, and a Liverpool fan group removing their flags isn't something we should be laughing at or trivialising.
They're withdrawing support in the biggest way they can. Individually it might lack impact and I'm worried there's nothing we can collectively do to stop it, but at least they're doing something.
CL was arranged by UEFA, the same as the European Cup. They do changed a lot of thing over the year, but they don't just give a club a guaranteed spot regardless. Why? They did the same thing when the CL was introduced.
They run the Euros so they can exclude players who have played in unlicensed breakaway competitions. I think FIFA have final say over the World Cup.How can UEFA ban players from internationally?
take Kane for example, and suppose he doesn’t want to play in the SL.
Spurs might sell him, but only teams in the SL have the funds to pay £100m. So he’s stuck. Whatever the morality of the clubs decisions - players shouldn’t be punished.
Yeah, I mean you get the odd new team popping up but looking at the likely teams to get promoted this year: Norwich, Watford, and possibly one of Swansea and Bournemouth. While I don't agree with this because there is no form of promotion relegation I really can't understand the you'll get bored of watch the same teams play every year when for the most part that is what happens in the EPL.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11615331/man-utd-old-trafford-neville-city/yeah. that’s the thing i’m finding most annoying. this has been inevitable. the pl didn’t care with their “fit and proper” checks for billionaire owners. show me a billionaire that has gotten there without treading on whomever they needed to to get there. chickens are roosting. people are just annoyed they might not be on the gravy train.
But so is the Super League, especially if UEFA and FIFA are joined by the national associations. Imagine no PL football, no matches for your national team. No CL or EL. Who would want to play for Manchester United? But it's not this season, it will be next season at the earliest. If UEFA did do it, they're finished.
yes. the odd dissenting comment does not a stance make.
The Champions League will still exist though in this instance. This move just devalues it more. Why? They did the same thing when the CL was introduced.
Since it is effectively a replacement for the Champions League, where you rarely face the same teams over and over, this point is garbage. Plus, at least Man Utd vs Real Madrid in the Champions League would be a high stakes game since you have the jeopardy of being knocked out. In the ESL, if Utd are 8th and Real Madrid 6th then it's a nothing game, a friendly. While I don't agree with this because there is no form of promotion relegation I really can't understand the you'll get bored of watch the same teams play every year when for the most part that is what happens in the EPL.
Right, but the Super League breaks out of all of those traditional structures and football pyramids. The Premier League was still part of the English footballing ladder, still recognised by the English FA, and still interacted with the EFL leagues via promotion/relegation and the League Cup. As I stated in my earlier response:I'm sure they just mean the same as the old League One wins count the same as Premier League wins.
I'd love for Liverpool to be one 1 league title, but they are definitely on 19
This would be akin to England taking their Olympic gold medals and proclaiming that they have more than one FIFA World Cup. They don't (which is a good thing). The Super League has 0 connections with UEFA. If anything, it opposes everything UEFA stands with, so for Real Madrid to take the successes from a UEFA tournament seems pretty hilarious.
I agree, its been a slow bleed out of the purity of the game through greed and commercialism.I bet people said the same thing (greed, killing the game etc) when the same club owners proposed the PL some 30 years ago.
In fact they did. I am old enough to remember it.
Its because opinions are only valid if you have been 100% consistent on everything for your entire life. Everyone knows that.Honest question: Gary has complained about Old Trafford before as well, it is nothing new. In fact a quick google search would have solved that for you.
My question is: Why do you spend time critcizing people who come out, LOUD, against this?
Is it that you support the league? What exactly does attacking dissenting voices do here? The point you are trying to make is not even factual, it's incorrect and at worst a deliberate lie.
So tell me. What is up with all of this?
Not the same at all.I'm sure they just mean the same as the old League One wins count the same as Premier League wins.
I'd love for Liverpool to be one 1 league title, but they are definitely on 19
Yeah.... long-term they will play only in that league. The fact that the ESL has significantly more games than the ECL makes me think that they want the teams to pull out of their domestic leagues long term. It’s close to x2 the amount of CL games. Playing close to 70 games would be crazy.
This is an absolute joke. They can't take their European Cup/Champions League history and successes and rebrand it as Super League achievements.

I don't think any here have the answer. I guess, since players contract would require registration to UEFA, FIFA, perhaps if the players themselves doesn't want ESL, there would be a way to terminate the contract. There is still PSG, Bayern that is not confirmed for ESL that can still afford great expensive player especially on a free. How can UEFA ban players from internationally?
take Kane for example, and suppose he doesn’t want to play in the SL.
Spurs might sell him, but only teams in the SL have the funds to pay £100m. So he’s stuck. Whatever the morality of the clubs decisions - players shouldn’t be punished.
The ESL is an entirely seperate league from the CL, whereas the PL is simply a conversion of the old division one format.I'm sure they just mean the same as the old League One wins count the same as Premier League wins.
I'd love for Liverpool to be one 1 league title, but they are definitely on 19
Yeah definitely.Yeah.... long-term they will play only in that league.
When you're the Chairman of the entire entity you can effectively do as you wish. This is an absolute joke. They can't take their European Cup/Champions League history and successes and rebrand it as Super League achievements.
