One can say a lot about Chelsea - but they are not lucky with the draws in the FA Youth Cup

2 years ago they met us in the 3rd round away - this year they get Sunderland - traditionally one of the strongest sides.

Apparently it will be played at Altrincham on Mon 6th December, KO 7pm.
For those of you who fear this fixture ....

Chelsea (h) 1-4
Arsenal (a) 0-3
Ipswich (h) 0-2
Palace (a) 3-0
Reading (a) 0-3
Norwich (a) 0-1
Fulham (h) 3-4
Charlton (a) 1-2
Leicester (a) 5-5 (Leicester were 5-0 up after 78 minute - decent comeback)
Watford (a) 1-4
Villa (h) 0-3
Forest (a) 2-3
Sheffield W (h) 0-2

1 win, 1 draw and 11 defeats (-20 gd)

If we don't destroy this team - every single player in that match should be released from their contract :)

I dare say they are 5 times worse than any team we have played all season!

What do you reckon the team will be?

I was thinking:

Johnstone

M Keane
Thorpe
McGinty
Fryers

Linegard
Pogba
Tunnicliffe
Morrison

W Keane
Cofie

However, I am not sure who is fit or injured.

If I were to pick a team (and all players were fit) - I think I would use Massacci at right back rather than Keane. And Larnell Cole is eligible isn't he ? I would use him or Hussain rather than Lindgard. Would perhaps be too little width but I am pretty certain it would still be our strongest team!

Good point on Massacci.

I would actually probably also use Fornasier instead of McGinty.

Completely forgot about the Italians.

A substandard bag of meat and bones.
Good side, but Lingard will feel a little unlucky not to be starting as he's been one of the standout players for the Academy leading up to the break.

United started very brightly on a heavy pitch, Cofie had a chance but missed the ball when it was squared to him in a good position.

Interesting to get a proper look at our new Dutchman.

Is it me or this our biggest youth team in years?
He's looked quite decent to me, put some great balls in the box and very tricky.

We've played some great stuff this half and it should be a far more convincing scoreline if not for a few dubious offsides, some near misses and Van Velzen missing the retaken pen.

The first time crossfield pass from Pogba to Van Velzen was ridiculous. Good to see Will Keane looking back to his best.

Re the size of the side, you're missing McGinty tonight who's a good 6ft 3" I think.
