Absolutely disgusting that some fans can't put tribalism aside for a topic like this. The more stories that come out, the more it is pointing to a massive feck up from the authorities.
100%.

UEFA finally apologize (only took Madrid complaining for it to happen).

Real is complaining in order to put this into their ESL file for next month’s hearing before the EU Court of Justice.

What do the Liverpool Supporters Groups want other than an apology? Just seen this is still on the news and wondered what the objective was

Stopping France from hosting any find of major football game would be start, plenty of examples over the years showing how badly policed the games are.

Guess they want financial compensation as well if you weren't allowed in with a genuine ticket.

Sorry if already posted but every image of fans holding up “valid” tickets has details of block, row, gate etc.. pixelated out.. every image!!

Seems to me that there were many 1000’s of snide tickets that got people into ground due to no checks other than turnstile click.

These numbers registered blocks as full and so fans with genuine tickets slowly packed the entrances. Police assumed they were ticketless..

Police… In disarray and assuming worst. I didn’t see hardly any violence from Liverpool fans.
UEFA.. Naive in the extreme to not put outer perimitter check for fake tickets
Fans.. not a single fan will ever admit getting in with fake ticket
Club.. Klopp encouraging fans to take over the city..

There seems to be a particular problem with the current police chief in Paris (). The interior minister got himself caught in a lie initiated by that chief and kept defending it.

This was last night, they used tear gas on travellers waiting for a bus.

No doubt there were a variety of issues affecting both sets of fans but how would the Real Madrid fans at their end of the stadium be affected by tens of thousands of Liverpool fans rocking up at the Liverpool end with fake tickets?

We can all see that genuine ticket holding fans were unfairly caught up in some of the altercations with the police and they have my utmost sympathy given that I was on the end of, shall we say, a completely unwarranted attack by the Madrid police 6 years ago. However, (and mark my words, the truth will out in the end because they will no doubt have the evidence), the elephant in the room are the many thousands of forged tickets doing the rounds. Liverpool fans were openly bragging all week on social media that they had forgeries for sale. There are even posters on RAWK who were there who reckon loads were in possession of fakes and this clearly contributed to the issues. And let's have it right here - anyone not buying tickets from official sources is risking being palmed off with a forgery. Not that too many can claim ignorance though as due to the openly blatant bragging of having "blags for sale", many fans will have known that they were fakes and still bought them anyway. UEFA have stated that this was also an issue amongst Liverpool fans at the 2019 final in Madrid v Spurs but not on the same scale. This clearly was on an industrial scale and every fan who knowingly bought a fake (I will excuse those who unwittingly bought them) has a lot to answer for because when you look at it in the cold light of day, thousands and thousands of extra fans turning up at a football ground with fake tickets can easily end up turning into a situation that is a hell of a lot worse than fans being kettled, tear-gassed, and pepper sprayed. You'd have thought Liverpool fans would've been aware of that more than any other fanbase, given the protracted battle they've fought for years to expose the truth of what happened at Hillsborough and the grave mistakes the police made in opening the gates and failing to funnel fans to the outer pens, instead allowing them to pile down the central tunnel into the already over-crowded pens.
Agree. This is the logical explanation.

If there were no fakes why was the stadium full with 1000’s locked out?
People with fakes probably went very early hence the trigger that Liverpool end was full.
Police decisions to tear gas … well… I had a lock out vs Lille as ground was full due to snides.. Police just turned on us..

What is perplexing is why
- “fans” would think it’s ok to buy a fake.
- UEFA cannot control wider perimeters or produce Card style tickets (Utd v Barca in Rome)..very hard to fake

Apparently the security footage from around the stadium has been completely destroyed.

About the gang trouble afterwards

Literally mugged by reality. This aspect is not being covered properly at all. Because consequent upon it is an examination of all the madness of policies going back decades that turn Paris into what significant portions of it now are. No one wants to honestly think about the present and future of that. Instead, batter the police who know this context with intimate daily repetitiveness. One of these Liverpool fans described it as like a scene from The Walking Dead. Let's not contradict his "lived experience".

The Paris police chief, Didier Lallement, who has blamed ticketless Liverpool fans for chaotic and worrying scenes that saw supporters corralled and teargassed outside the stadium, conceded on Thursday that his operation had been a failure.

He also admitted he had no evidence for his claim that 30,000 to 40,000 Liverpool fans without tickets or with forged tickets had descended on the stadium, although he said whether there were “40,000, 30,000 or 20,000, it didn’t change the fact that there were tens of thousands of people who could not fit in”.

F*cking dickheads.

What are you saying, that the game was organized by the Project for the New American Century?
Security footage was automatically deleted after 7 days. For whatever reason the police/the court didn’t claim the footage in due time.

Cocaine also, or a combination of the two.
This.

The widespread availablity of the stuff coupled with a post covid sense of relief is causing this without a doubt. Not to mention the fact that the older heads who wouldn't touch it are slowly being whittled down and replaced by the millennial/zoomer gens who think snorting lines of this is comparable to having a cup of tea.

UEFA's statement blaming "late fans" for the situation in Paris on Champions League Final day was prepared well before the actual match. fecking cnuts.

UEFA pre-prepared Champions League final statement blaming ‘late’ fans

Uefa’s statement apparently blaming Liverpool supporters for causing the delay to the start of the Champions League final in Paris was pre-prepared a considerable time before the day of the match, the Guardian has learned. The statement, put up on the big screen at the Stade de France, announced that a delay to the scheduled 9pm kick-off of the final between Liverpool and Real Madrid had been caused by “late arrival of fans”.

The statement incensed Liverpool supporters, thousands of whom were still stuck in chaotic queues outside the stadium despite having arrived three or more hours before 9pm. Approximately 15,000 Liverpool supporters had been held up in a dangerous, bottleneck queue at a perimeter ticket checkpoint, then denied access to the stadium at turnstiles closed by stewards and police.
Meanwhile here's UEFA boss Aleksander Ceferin, in conversation the Liverpool mayor, showing the concern and compassion the situation required:

Rotheram confronted Ceferin about the dangers outside, but said the president replied dismissively that Uefa had “killed itself” to get the final staged, having switched it from St Petersburg in February. Rotheram says he replied with concern that fans outside could be killed and that Ceferin retorted: “This conversation is over.”
Fortunately, they're launching their own independent review into what went wrong so it will no doubt be transparent and full of truth.

The Premier League are sleepwalking into a stabbing (or something else extremely serious) in terms of fan behaviour. Zero is being done to clamp down on it either.

Are stewards paid or are they volunteers? It's really poor at some games.

Absolutely horrific ... RIP.

It was only a 0-0 draw btw, a useful point for Blackpool's survival hope but completely meaningless for Burnley who's miles away from anyone else as the league leader.

I'm pretty sure the ones at Old Trafford are paid minimum wage and are hired straight off the dole queue. Where I sit in the ground there's a new steward in front of me every week and it's obvious they're learning on the job. The supervisors have to walk past and tell them when to stand up.

Local rivalry used to amp up the hostility. Imagine similar happens with Blackburn and Preston. Those four don’t like each other.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Alcohol is a big part of it. On a playoff day, cup final, or a day with real footballing significance, it becomes an event and the drinking starts early and builds up towards it. You won't see the same shit on an early saturday kickoff. It's a real shame.
They should move games to REALLY early kick offs.

Many people start work at 8.30 so I don’t see why games can’t kick off at that time. You’d quickly weed out the gacked up shitheads.

Paid and paid pathetically. All these premier league and championship clubs posture about this and that, rainbow awareness, kick it out, football is for everyone. But they’re all actually a disgrace when it comes to policing and stewarding their matches and actually putting money down to keep people safe. In London a lot of the cost of policing matchdays is actually covered by the tax payer. Even though it would be a drop in the ocean for these clubs to pay for it. They don’t like to pay for policing outside and around the grounds as if it’s nothing to do with them. They pay their stewards shite and outside of London a lot of clubs barely even have enough stewards.
