Lloris
Jonny, Mendy, Cedric
Salah, Richarlison, Alexis, Cairney
Lacazette, Aguero, Zaha

Subs: Norris, Stephens, Wan-Bissaka, Zanka

OR

Schmeichel
Jonny, Mendy, Cedric
Salah, Richarlison, Eriksen, Cairney
Aubamayang, Aguero, Zaha

Subs: Norris, Stephens, Wan-Bissaka, Zanka
Prefer the first one, Lacazette is a great pick. Preseason he has playing as the striker with Auba pushed out to the left wing. Both starting.

Kneejerked from Auba to Aguero. Waiting on an update on Bailly so I could stick in him there for Luiz, but in general I think I'll stick with this. I do have some second thoughts about Richarlison too, though. Not sure alternatives are any better and I don't know if I want to downgrade the defence before all the WC players are fully back with their clubs.

Ederson
Mendy - Robertson - Luiz (Wan-Bissaka, Peltier)
Salah - Eriksen - Jota - Richarlison (Cairney)
Aguero - Zaha - King

Yeah I fancy Lacazette but also remember how ordinary he looked last season.

I'm going for it, just did the Aubamayang > Lacazette transfer myself! Allowed me to get in Josh King which I'm quite please with.

Not sure Lovren will start will he? Played the World Cup final so dunno how long he’s been back in training for.

Josh King didn’t score many goals last season, and he’s pretty average to be honest.

I'm unsure on a striker at the moment. I feel with Aguero scoring 2 against Chelsea on Sunday (Could have easily been 3-4).

I just don't know how Arsenal are going to start or play so it makes me feel tentative about choosing Aubamyang.

I'm super confident Sanchez is going to pick up either a goal/assist and MOTM on Friday. I want him in on the basis that I can remove him on gameweek 2 but I just don't know how to do it.

This is my current tinker, but it just feels a little weak at the top because I just can't trust Zaha to actually do well enough. Thoughts?

I wanted Sanchez but the gamble isn't worth 10.5 considering other options available.

On the basis that Aguero done really well and we still don't know how Utd will play, I guess it's best to stick to the safe option. Even if Aguero does not score he will be a big threat in the Gameweeks after.

My bet is they both end up around similar points. So set and forget until one gets injured. I've gone for the safer bet in Aguero, even though my heart wanted Auba.

Need some help with my draft team. I have a shite defence.

Bellerin, Moses, Kolasinac, Creswell, Jones

I'm thinking of getting rid of Moses, Kol and Jones.

The majority of players available are the budget ones but I've had a look and Luke Shaw, Cedric, Daniels and a few others are about.

I'm thinking Shaw will probably start the first game and could be a good shout for a clean sheet maybe an assist who knows. Cedric has been tipped to play a lot more attacking under Mark Hughes. I think I want some Burnley defenders as they have a nice opening run and should pick up some Clean Sheets.

I don't know why I picked Moses.... he won't feature much.

Zaha is not an issue. You have Tosun, Mitrovic, Arnautovic, Rashford to trade him with. I'd be more worried with playing Richarlison and Cairney every week. I would not trust either of them in my first XI over a season.

Liverpools opening 6 games look great. I think Salah might notch a brace in a couple of those games but that's just me.

I don't see a problem with Zaha either. I would play either Cedric or Tomkins the first game over Cairney. You could even drop Cairney for Stephens of Brighton and use the extra.5 to get a 5 defender from either Burnely , Arsenal or Liverpool or United's Shaw instead of either of the two 4.5 defenders you have and go 4 at the back.

Don't like the look of Everton's defence, Silva not know as a defensive manager and They have not performed well preseason.

So one of the most difficult choices for me was choosing a GK. DDG is expensive. I don't want to give 1/3 of my City potential to Ederson. Chelsea's defence may not be great this season. Lloris is Lloris. Everton's defence seem slow, and Arsenal are Arsenal. So, for me, I figured the best option was opting for two £4.5 goalkeepers. And I realised that this season the stars were aligned for this to turn out great. So bear with me here...

Purchase McCarthy and Foster, then trade in Fabianski for McCarthy and you will end up with the fixtures;

GW1: Brighton home (Foster), 2
GW2: Burnley away (Foster), 3
GW3:Crystal Palace home (Foster), 2
GW4: Crystal Palace away (McCarthy), 3
GW5: Brighton home (McCarthy), 2
GW6: Fulham away (Foster), 2
GW7: Wolves away (McCarthy), 2
GW8: Bournemouth home (Foster), 3
GW9: Wolves away (Foster), 2
GW10: Huddersfield home (Foster), 2
GW11: Newcastle away (Foster), 3
GW12: Southampton away (Foster), 2 / Watford home (McCarthy), 2
GW13: Fulham away (McCarthy), 2

GW14: Newcastle away (Fabianski), 3
GW15: Cardiff home (Fabianski), 2
GW16: Crystal Palace home (Fabianski), 2
GW17: Fulham away (Fabianski), 2

GW19: Southampton away (Fabianski), 2

GW24: Wolves away (Fabianski), 2
GW25: Brighton away (Foster), 3
GW26: Everton home (Foster), 2
GW27: Cardiff away (Foster), 2
GW28: Liverpool away (Foster), 5 / Man City away (Fabianski), 5
GW29: Newcastle home (Fabianski), 3
GW30: Cardiff away (Fabianski), 2
GW31: Huddersfield home (Fabianski), 2
GW32: Everton home (Fabianski), 2
GW33: Fulham home (Foster), 2
GW34: Arsenal home (Foster), 5
GW35: Huddersfield away (Foster), 2
GW36: Wolves home (Foster), 2
GW37: Southampton home (Fabianski), 2
GW38: West Ham home (Foster), 2

Of course these 'ratings' may change over the course of a season, but overall this is a pretty good set-up for £9.0, with an average FDR of 2.42.

Nice work! I have Foster already but I would have to find another 0.5m somewhere.

Josh King didn’t score many goals last season, and he’s pretty average to be honest.
I'm not expecting amazing things from a 6.5m striker but I believe he is getting played as a striker this season, similar to 2016/17 + he takes pens.

Interesting transfer Rondon to Newcastle - 6.0m , he could do well there.

I have this but gone with Fabianski/McCarthy. They have perfect Home and Away rotation.

Think ive finally found a team im comfortable with. Great fixtures, sensible backups (Cairney/Sørloth) - not touching the team for the first two weeks

De Gea
Walker-Shaw-Smalling-Arnold-Mendy
Salah (c)-Mane-Richarlison
Aguero-Tosun

subs: Sørloth, Cairney, Peltier

Decent team. My only worry is you've tripled up on Liverpool AND City. I prefer to hedge my bets a bit but different strategies work for different people.

My team is:

De Gea
Mendy, Luiz, Doherty
Eriksen, Salah, Richarlison, Cairney
Aguero, Lacazette, Zaha

Subs: Norris, Wan-Bissaka, Peltier, Stephens
