Fantasy Premier League 20/21

Chelsea and Southampton has two of the best defensive record in the league. Two home games, and Vardy has scored like one goal at home all season.

Poor underlying stats, and relies heavily on penalties which has been far and few lately. Hasn't scored from open play in last five games. Dodgy fitness as well.

I'm probably going to Triple Captain him btw.
Solid stuff. Just regarding underlying stats he's someone who can give a lot better fpl output than what's expected and given both soton and chelsea would not sit back he'll get some good looks. Plus both him and Madders are well rested, should be having a good go. Give him better odds to score vs chelsea than soton.

Ok friends. Line up as below. Doublers in CAPS

MENDY (4m non playing keeper)
DIAS STONES JUSTIN TAYLOR Dier
DE BRUYNE BRUNO GREALISH Son Smith Rowe
WATKINS Bamford Kane

What to do
1)Triple captain? KDB looks the only choice really.
2)Bench boost has the problem of
a)No second keeper
b)Taylor has a double but is still 50-50 for tomorrow and has Liverpool in his 2nd game
c)Smith Row/Bamford/3 Tottenham boys only have singles
3)Play neither chip (or still if i go TC) - how do I get Justin into my starting 11? Looks to me like i'd need to risk leaving out Bamford (great home game v Brighton) or Dier (away to dreadful SU)
Can't leave any of the other 9 out.

0.5m in bank

Coufal and Soucek would be nice to get in - Taylor to Coufal works. But then i'd have Justin & Coufal to try and get into the 11. That'd need a BB but a 4m keeper would only stretch to 4.2 and no-one plays on that. (Forster played 90 for Southampton last game, but surely just while McCarthy was injured)
Would a BB be worth it with Justin/Coufal/Smith Rowe on it? 5 games between them?

What should we do here?
KDB, Coufal and bench boost

KDB, Coufal and bench boost

KDB as normal cap. And a 3 man BB in effect?

I wonder what a decent haul from a BB is? 15-20 I suppose?
Crappest of the chips and hard to maximise unless you get a WC before it.

Hate that I’m agonising over it but here I am once again, looking forward to the 3 points like last time
It’s the worst chip to play because if it goes tits up you know you’ve really messed up..

I’ve played bench boost instead of triple captaining Bruno and I only have Soucek and Peters playing. Just don’t feel it with Bruno or Vardy atm, but KDB is a different animal atm so maybe TC him..

His non penalty stats look terrible for a striker, and he doesn't get much chances if you watch him, but if there's any player that needs only one chance to score, then it's him.

Would definitely give him the armband over Fernandes and Salah for this week, though I'm considering a crazy one.

Yes you have to think there can't be a better chance for a TC later in the season than KDB v Palace and Villa at home.
Just those doubts about City's attack in general. But even the other day he had at least 4 good chances, even without counting the pen stuff late on.

Yeah that's the thing and he's getting assists if not scoring. If Leicester score it's a lot more likely he's gonna be involved in some way. But yeah not the best form this season.

Guess it's the boring option in Kev.

Anyone planning to Keep Kane ? I have gained 0.5 m on him. Judging how the season is going, its better to keep him i guess ?

Definitely keeping Kane. People taking him out for a hit in order to get Vardy are being short sighted imo - though I do think Vardy will do well.

Kane is a season keeper for me and if you want him back you’re ending up burning free transfers and losing value.

I'd be lying if I said I've been trying to get my team ready for the DGW (I don't do that level of planning) but as it happens, got quite a few double gamers (caps).

MARTINEZ
DIAS JUSTIN Ayling
BRUNO SALAH RASHFORD BOWEN
Kane Bamford Adams

Bench : Forster, Keane (no game), Bednarek, Mendy

I'm definitely not BBing as they're shit.

Maybe swap Bednarek for Ayling.

Thinking more of a couple of transfers. Got one transfer and 0.2m spare.

Stones good/cheap option. And ideally bin Salah (hurts having a Liverpool player in, especially just before we play them).. KdB?

Thoughts? (all help gratefully received)

I'm thinking of taking a minus 8 to do DCL, Mahrez and Klich to Foden, Vardy & Soucek, would that be worth it?

I'm worried about being Pepp'd with Forden, I've been massively Pepp'd with Mahrez who I got in after his high scoring game, and has repaid me by doing precisely nothing when he does actually play

I cannot afford KDB who I would like unless I wild card but not messing with that.

I still have the problem of Werner who I keep giving one last chance to/ have more pressing problems each time so he gets to stay.... however I could bin him down the line, put DCL back in when fit and change Son to KDB

So do I do DCL and Mahrez to Soucek and Vardy for minus 4

Or

DCL, Mahrez and Klich to Foden, Vardy & Soucek for minus 8?

Yeah, that's what I thought too.

Villa and Palace won't be pushovers though.

It's more a rare chance for one of the best players in the league having 2 home games in a gameweek.

There may be a better TC option later in the season, but no guarantees.

I'm probably 75-25% on BB off 3 bench players with 5 games between them at the moment, moving Taylor to Coufal for free.

Anyone going free hit?

Any good lineups?
Already used my free hit, but if I'm free hitting, I'd probably go, budget permitting:

Martinez
4.0

Dias
Stones
Cresswell
Coufal
Mitchell

Salah
De Bruyne
Fernandes
Rashford
Soucek

Vardy
Brewster
Davis

Worth bench boosting if my bench will be Dallas - Antonio - Brewster with non playing keeper? I am taking a -8 pointer no matter what to transfer KWP -> Dias, Kane -> Antonio(enabler) and Grealish -> KDB

Villa and Palace won't be pushovers though.

Palace let in seven goals against Liverpool a few weeks ago, Villa let in four against Soton and three against Leeds and they should be a bit fecked after covid. Who knows if Grealish is one of ‘em or not? Villa are fantastic and have a lot of underrated players - but yeah, without Grealish they are not that team anymore.

KdB triple-capped for sure - it’s time he scores a goal, and he will take the next penalty for sure. I predict at least a goal and an assist... which would be a minimum to be happy, but I’ve had worse. I seem to remember TC’ing a red hot Aguero some years ago, only for him to be subbed with an injury after 12 minutes or some shit.

Do we know if Aston Villa game will be played at all? If they are Covid free? And I do wonder if Guardiola will put DeBruyne on bench in one of the games because he really needs rest. I have DeBruyne myself.

I also wonder who I'll put in the last two positions I have left. Will it be Shaw, Grealish, Son or Bamford. Two of those guys will miss to make it in my team. Right now I'm leaning towards playing Grealish and Bamford.

Makes sense. I would also change Mendy. Chelsea isn't exactly great and they have Fulham and Leicester. I would fancy them to score at least one goal. Best bet is Fabianski but he isn't 100% :(

Also who would you start out of Dallas (BHA at home) or Holding (Newcastle at home)?
Holding more likely to keep a clean sheet but Dallas more likely to get attacking returns.

I like taking risks so Dallas.

Oh my triple captains have been 1 pointers the last TWO years! Both City.
Sane played about 8mins of game 2.
And Sterling must have come on late v Southampton at home, a few weeks after Southampton had lost 9-0 at Leicester.

So KDB just playing and conceding a goal in 1 game would double my last 2 years!

With only 1 free transfer it'd be madness to take Mendy out now, having had him so long.

Basically the KDB TC v BB question comes down to which of these scores more.

KDB difference between Captain and TC
Justin double, Coufal double and Smith Rowe home to Newcastle.

Even if that second line all concede a goal and just play - that'd still be 10 points. That takes KDB getting an assist in both games to match.

DeBruyne is a good choice looking at the games. If you don’t have good bench. Question is, does he play in both games? And is Aston Villa game still on?

I am thinking what to do myself. Do I go with him as more then 50% of players will or do I go with Vardy or take a risk with underrated Antonio where I could rocket in table if things go well.

I'm still debating whether Coufal/Justin with doubles, and Smith Rowe with a single is a strong enough bench to play the BB.
Or whether a TC De Bruyne is better.

The Villa game will definitely be on. They've already had their planned Tottenham and Everton games called off, so i think that's safe.
The question is have their players recovered, or do City get an even better fixture?

City have a walkover cup game after the 2 league games, so it makes sense to rest him then surely?

I’ve got both Coufal and Justin from start. Good players. Good games. Might even score or assist.

Free transfer: Welbeck -> Antonio

MARTINEZ
ROBERTSON JAMES CANCELO COUFAL
KDB SALAH FERNANDES SOUCEK
ANTONIO Bamford

Forster, Raphinha, Dallas, DCL

Not sure I like having 3 West Ham and 3 Leeds so may start phasing a couple of them out in the coming weeks. Was half tempted to bring Stones in for Dallas to field 11 doublers, and avail of triple City for the great fixtures coming up.

Is Antonio worth bringing in? Planning to get rid of DCL, rather than putting him on bench
I just swapped DCL for Antonio for a hit. Antonio price rising and DCL dropping tonight too...

I'm seriously thinking about playing my BB. Shrewsbury manager has Covid and I can imagine the Leeds game goes ahead...

Should I play Che Adams or an extra defender (Holding or Dier)?

Tempted to use the Triple Captain chip.

Martinez

Maguire Justin Coufal Dias

KDB Bruno Salah Soucek

Antonio Kane

(Bench of Dallas, Raphinha and Brewster)

Who would you guys triple captain?

Is everyone with captain KDB. Any takers for the Salah vs Bruno question

Salah is a good shout but I don't think our defence is as bad as it was in the beginning of the season and Burnley are decent defensively.

Bruno could get a yellow against Liverpool and miss the Fulham game.
