This year's been so good that I totally forgot that album, despite really liking it off 2 or 3 listens. Cheers for the reminder! There's been some cracking albums this year.
Here are my 5 most memorable ones. The first three are the ones that I've listened to the most, in particular.
Mogwai - As the Love Continues
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - G_d's Pee at State's End!
Chvrches - Screen Violence
Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend
The War on Drugs - I Don't Live Here Anymore
Such a good album. I've got tickets to see them in January. I just know that the gig isn't going to go ahead, so I'm bracing myself for that inevitability. I'm pre-gutted.This year's been so good that I totally forgot that album, despite really liking it off 2 or 3 listens. Cheers for the reminder!
Fingers crossed the gig takes place sooner rather than later!Such a good album. I've got tickets to see them in January. I just know that the gig isn't going to go ahead, so I'm bracing myself for that inevitability. I'm pre-gutted.

This is the correct answer, one of their best albums imo.Since it's my fav band, Iron Maiden - Senjutsu.
What an amazing album from a marvelous band. Insane they still keep going.
Heard quite a few of these, gonna give the others a go too as seems we have similar taste.(I don’t know how to paste as plain text on my phone, so you’re getting a table)
1 Beast in Black Dark Connection 2 Soen Imperial 3 Powerwolf Call of the Wild 4 Iron Maiden Senjutsu 5 Bloodbound Creatures of the Dark Realm 6 Marius Danielsen Legend of Valley Doom Part 3 7 Myles Kennedy The Ides of March 8 Helloween Helloween 9 Anneke Van Giersbergen The Darkest Skies are the Brightest 10 Tremonti Marching in Time
At least somewhat liked all the other albums you mentioned but The Weather Station one really left me cold despite all the praise it got.I really enjoyed new albums by:
The Weather Station
Richard Dawson
Tyler
Dry Cleaning
Squid
Amyl and the Sniffers
Black Midi
Lucy Dacus
Turnstile
Mogwai
Madlib
Tune Yards...
But the ones that I kept going back to were:
Little Simz
Floating Points
Black Country New Road
Low
Especially Low. I fecking love that album.
All in all, there was lots to enjoy.
I must admit, I didn't instantly connect with it. Listened to it a couple of times when it was released and thought it was pretty good but nothing special. At least somewhat liked all the other albums you mentioned but The Weather Station one really left me cold despite all the praise it got.
It was a surprise release on Halloween. It's not going to be for everyone but I thought it was a fun listen.Jesus Christ, Limp Bizkit have released a new album? And it's on somebody's album of the year list? What is happening.
Got an email today to say that the gig has been postponed until September.Fingers crossed the gig takes place sooner rather than later!
What an absolute pisser. Any chance you could get the money back and buy tickets for another gig, so you at least feel like you've got something lined up? Feel for you, pal. After the 2 years we've had, stuff like this does make a difference doesn't it? Stuff we took for granted basically!Got an email today to say that the gig has been postponed until September.
Even worse, the gig has now been moved from a Saturday to a Friday, meaning that it's impossible for me to get to the venue anywhere near close enough in time. So, looks like I won't be going.
Absolutely gutted. I think it's really bad form to actually change the day of the gig. If it was a Saturday to begin with, it should be postponed for another Saturday, like for like. Not everyone has the luxury of living next to a big city and it's a weekday gig. You book under one set of circumstances and now you're presented with something different. Overall, meh. 2022 is off to a shit start. Was looking forward to both Godspeed and Doves, and now not going to either.
