Smaller experiments are better, easier to follow, less fluff, good work @Solius

Would it be an idea to put up the results and a capture or short summary of the Caf vs Caf games for the neutrals?

Thanks! Yeah I thought about this since most are in the same league. I can only go back to October to see full details of some now, but if I do it mid season it should be fine.

Two narrow losses for the Rams!

Home wins for both. Wahi loves a goal against Bolton (or does he). Looks like Sheff Utd's defence saved them in that second game.

Derby winning both games. Should be interesting next season!

Think us and Derby need to look good for playoffs this season or it will look dicey financially in the near future.

Ok. Season 4 is about to begin!

@altodevil @BD @sebsheep @The Cat @BenitoSTARR @SilentWitness

No manager changes this summer for the first time. But some big name moves as usual:

Sunderland have pinched another Utd prospect and added Kobbie Mainoo to their team for £32m

Sheff Utd
went looking for a RB and found Jeremie Frimpong for £63.5m

Derby
shored up their defence with Ousmane Diomande at a price of £34m

Bolton
went for young talent and spent £68.5m on Kendry Paez

I'll sim past the transfer window now to see how terrible your AI signings are. Once your rep improves they should get better.

Last season of being frugal for me. If we don't go up then next year I'm going big. If we don't even get at least playoffs or look good for it in Jan I'm pumping money in.

Diomande a great signing for that price.

I'm risking it all for fast progress. De Zerbi could end us long term with the wrong signings. We just aren't sustainable with the wage/facility bill so need Europe money. At least in two seasons.

Probably end up relegated and dead.

It's good that we are all doing it a bit different, would have been boring if we were all frugal or all blow it.

Yeah we wanted to bring in a dominant CB. 6ft 3 technically sound and usually quite quick also now at a good age to start and work in the PL too. Hopefully Moore becomes a part of the first team more this season (5 subs last) and Estevao has to be close to coming up either this or next.

We’ve got Moukoko who should now get us double digit goals and looking at the side we actually have a good championship level midfield too.

Yeah but I love your signings. A nice touch of United too.
I’ll 100% take 5th place and a chance at the play offs. Really need our wingers to develop now so that if we do get a promotion we’re PL ready and competitive.

I was either going to bring in a midfielder or defender. If I didn't get Paez then I was looking at a CB close to home. :)

AI Transfers

No idea who they are.

There's nothing else. I had to go back to the previous season to see these as they happened in June. And then they signed nobody. Solid 3 players though tbf.

We've had a transfer between two caf clubs! Liam Thompson crosses that mythical line.

Archie Gray is a top signing by Sunderland.

Happy with some of my business too. Jashari is a good player in game. Some nice loan signings too in Gendrey and Misehouy.

Archie Gray and Mainoo. You’ve won this experiment now. You’ve got a world class future midfield.
They are good signings. Amdouni through the middle too, at the very least quality squad player. But we shipped loads of goals last season and haven't done anything in that department. I was tempted to go keeper but prices were ridiculous and we have a promising backup.

Medina looks decent. The others probably depends a lot on how they have progressed, Zeze looks like he could be half decent. Not too sure about the rest.

Season 4 - 11th December 2026

@altodevil & Sunderland are doing decent so far. Where they'd expect to be I guess but the gap between them and the bottom keeps changing as their form ebbs and flows. They'll be happy to Sesko in the top scorers list and Yamal one behind Foden in assists. Garnacho has once again been their best performer, but Mainoo has only played 8 games so far weirdly.

@BD @sebsheep and Sheffield Utd are keeping their heads above water, just about. They were bottom early on but have picked up a few wins to lift them higher. Their defence has done a decent job compared to those around them. Soria is joint 4th for clean sheets. New signing Frimpong has player every game and is only rated second to Pino.

@SilentWitness and his Bolton side looking good so far. I don't think they expected to top the table but they're right where they want to be. Paez has been the standout player for them with 6 goals and 7 assists in 20 apps. They also top the clean sheets table so they're solid all over atm.

@The Cat @BenitoSTARR and Derby are also in a decent spot. Same points as Bolton, just lower on GD. Will Hughes continues to be a solid player for them and they're also keeping lots of clean sheets maybe helped by Diomande's arrival. He's played all 26 games in all comps and is averaged at a 7.22 (with 2 league goals as well).

Then I have good and bad news for Derby. Moore and Estevao have broken into the first team. Good news is Moore has played 9 times already and scored 2 goals. The bad news is Estevao hasn't had a work permit since moving up squads and even when I edit the game to give him one it doesn't work. I've had to give him English as a second nationality so he can play  So you should see him having actually done some stuff in the next update.

Let me know if you want to change anything or happy to move on to April (with a Jan transfers update if its warranted)

Doing fine but it's the goals conceded I worry about. Mainoo not starting is weird but probably down to de zerbis bizarre double DM formation. May need a managerial change soon. @Solius let me know if any major managers become available through sacking.

And let us know if any major managers become available and, importantly, which manager Sunderland go for.

Think we're good to go otherwise.

Yeah didn’t spot him at first but that will be a really competitive middle for the foreseeable.

Keeper will be last priority for us I reckon.

Also love how Estevao is now part English
Estêvão Willian Alemeida de Oliveira Gonçalves.

Or by his English name:
Steven William Alex Oliver Goodman.
Good old Steven.
