I don't find it to be too complicated. I find just being reasonable and not making promises I don't/can't keep to be the key.Player interactions were the reason I stopped playing these games. In some of the previous editions morale definitely had an outsized impact on form and it was so easy to break it with the ridiculously stupid interaction system.
I don't think I've had an interaction go bad on me this year and I've played nearly 600 hours, either do what I want or you get sold. Sooner or later you build up enough respect that they do what you say anyway.
